2025 Lexus ES Black Line Returns Along With a Few Updates
The 2025 Lexus ES isn’t getting a redesign like the Toyota Camry, but the Black Line package returns after four years and one can still get the V6 – for now.
For the 2025 model year, Toyota gave the Camry a rather extensive makeover, complete with heavily revised exterior styling, a. redesigned interior, and a new line of exclusively hybrid powertrains. However, its more luxurious counterpart – the 2025 Lexus ES – isn’t getting that same sort of treatment. That doesn’t mean the 2025 Lexus ES is carrying over completely unchanged, however, as it marks the return of the Black Line Special Edition following a four-year hiatus.
The 2025 Lexus ES Black Line Special Edition is based on the ES 350 F Sport Handling model, to which the brand adds an array of unique touches including Obsidian side mirrors, black lower rocker panels, F Sport puddle lamps and door switch plates, and a black rear lip spoiler. The Black Line package also includes the 12.3-inch touchscreen, head-up display, panoramic view monitor, SmartAccess Card Key, and Mark Levinson Premium Audio System as standard equipment – all for a cost of $3,965, though the 2025 ES Black Line is limited to just 1,000 units of production for North America.
Other than the return of the Black Line Special Edition, the 2025 Lexus ES lineup has three different models to choose from, each with its own unique powertrain setup. That starts with the ES 250 AWD, which is powered by the 2.5-liter four-cylinder making 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque driving all four wheels. For the same price, customers can also opt for the ES 350, which is packing the 3.5-liter V6 generating 302 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque driving the rear wheels.
Then there’s the ES 300h, which features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder paired with a hybrid system, which generates a combined 215 horsepower. It offers a nice fuel economy advantage over the other two trims, with EPA ratings of 43/44/44 mpg city/highway/combined, compared to 22/32/25 for the ES 350, too. All three trims can be equipped with the F Sport Design and F Sport Handling packages for a little extra flair and performance.
In terms of pricing, the 2025 Lexus ES starts out at $43,190 for the ES 250 AWD and ES 350 Base – the same as the outgoing 2024 model – including a $1,150 destination fee. The 300h starts out at $44,590, while opting for the Black Line Special Edition will set one back at least $53,615. The new ES is slated to arrive at dealers in the U.S. this summer, and perhaps most notably, could signal the end of the line for the long-running 3.5-liter V6, as that engine has already been discontinued in the Camry and is heading to the proverbial graveyard in general.
