Republican - You believe that the free market will take care of most things, but that the government should be there with moderate taxation to provide for national defense and enforcing morality. Your historical role model is Ronald Reagan.

Hey Jon, did you see my friend at the moot court competition? He won an award for the best individual performance (his last name is Choi). His partner messed up, but that's what happens when you don't prepare well enough.

Hey what's up?

Did he compete against the teams from McGeorge? Or did he go against Hastings' teams in the preliminary round?

I was with one of our teams during the competition but I don't recall the last name Choi. We ended up with a 2nd place finish after losing to a Hastings team in the final round.

I do know that he won the award for the best oralist though. Great job!

We competed against Hastings, but unfortunately we lost because his partner did not prepare. She started off by saying that all cross-burnings are illegal and that seemed to turn off the judges. Oh well.

I'm glad to hear you guys got second place

I hear ya.

But the peeps from Hastings were pretty tough participants.

So overall, good job too the participants who tried.

I think it was a close call for many teams. :)

Libertarian - You believe that the main use for government is for some people to lord it over others at their expense. You maintain that the government should be as small as possible, and that civil liberties, "victimless crimes", and gun ownership should be basic rights. You probably are OK with capitalism. Your historical role model is Thomas Jefferson.

I got Republican although I found some of the questions had no answer I really liked.

I wonder who would get this? :D

Democrat - You believe that there should be a free market which is reigned in by a modest state beaurocracy. You think that capitalism has some good things, but that those it helps should be obliged to help out their fellow man a little. Your historical role model is Franklin Rosevelt.

I must say I was surprised by this until I saw the extremely narrow range of possibilities. The problem with multiple choice is that it inevitably omits a person's true opinions. Also, I think the fact that the survey folks can't spell bureaucracy is pretty funny.
