The conservative Media Research Center had asked major advertisers to review the script and consider not buying commercial time on the show. And the chairman of the Republican National Committee also told CBS President Leslie Moonves that historians should review the miniseries for historical accuracy, or that a disclaimer should be run declaring the program fiction.
Leslie Moonves acknowledges problems. he admitted: "... there are things we think go too far. So there are some edits being made trying to present a more fair picture of the Reagans."

No one wants to watch one-sided bashing of someone that is well respected. CBS knows this, and knows their station would lose more in the long run than it may gain in ratings from those waiting for Jerry Springer to come on.

Maybe that the facts of history are much stronger than the biased writing of history!?
And that the real story is that the media are so hell-bent on rewriting the history of Reagan that they want to undermine his legacy to give Americans a distorted version of the truth.

I assume the show sponsors (read advertisers) started pulling the plug at the negative publicity, and that would cause CBS to cut their losses. It really is all about money.

So true. And guys....We don't REALLY know what were in the pages of the script. So it could have been a total SCENSATIONALISM or it could have been some dirty truths.........

personally i believe the fact is that if we seen how damn good Regan was in a time like this we would see how big of a screw up Bush is.
