The Republicans have the Presidency, and the majority of Governors, Senators, and Congresspersons.

Why?

I can name two reasons that I see:

1. The outspoken democrats are not representative of the average one, therefore, there is quite a few of the more moderates ones voting for the less extreme republicans

2. With the state of the US as it is, republican ideals appeal better to the middle of the road people.

To be honest, our state has a democrat governor, and I think he is doing just fine. So I would venture to say it's not a republican democrat majority issue, it's just who relates to the people and appeals to the people better with their ideals, and until the moderate democrats do away with their outspoken clowns, more and more people will lean toward republicans.

Not sure what you link it to but I have some friends\family (minorities) who have taken a turn in the last 12 months figuring out that the Democrats really don’t give a shat about them.

From these particular people that was always their main point, the democrats care about us and they fight for us. Now they really realize all they wanted was their vote and they are JUST LIKE any other politician out there. Once die hard dems now have an open mind, they won’t stop voting for the democrats but they are willing to consider other parties now.

What's the old joke, Dems pretend to care but really don't, and the Reps don't care and TELL YOU. :D

From my perspective, the presidency was stolen, the Congress was jerimandered, and the governorship was sold to Hollywood.
