Do you like the new CTS-V?
James
It's about the total package to me.
CTS-V vs M3 vs S4 vs Volvo S60R and maybe less so the E55, M5, RS6.
Stellar move for Caddy.
) How does the new GS400 plan to compete with it?

I wouldn't think that the GS and the CTS-V are competitors - interesting that you made that comparison

That front fascia and chisled angular headlights just does not jive, makes me wonder, is Chris Bangle of BMW also moonlighting at GM also??? The interior, although made of a higher qulaity plastics, still looks cheap. Design is so important!
I guess, for me, it's difficult to measure quality and refinement using a Lexus ruler against non-Lexus brands.
Is that so very wrong?
Cheers,
Sheldon.
What IS it with mfgrs and interiors, though?? Using higher quality, soft touch plastics can't add that much to the mfgrs cost and yet makes such a huge difference in our perception of the quality of the whole vehicle. Not many seem to get it right but T/L always has!! My first Toyota (Celica GT) in 1974 had better plastics and better assembly quality than ANYTHING domestic even then. Maybe that's not a fair comparison since those were definitely the dark days for the American auto industry; on the other hand, they made their own bed.
But maybe, just maybe, the General is waking up..........
GM has had decades to get it right, and they still don't have it! The Japanese (particularly~ Toyota) has been using the correct 'mold' to produce excellent ergonomics, materials, build quality and reliable hardware to encourage and increase loyalty and repeat customers. In other words, the Japanese has the right 'drug' in the auto world to keep us hooked
GM needs some fresh young blood to give the company a fair chance in the auto market. Their cars looks bloated or disguised in layers of ribbed plastic mouldings, the interior is cheap ( and that extends to the Corvette as well ) and busy with allot of stitching and lines.........the cars are not reliable and does not hold it's value, but costs too much. (guess the value speaks for itself )
Remember, those dark days for GM were also infancy days for other manufacturers as well, so if Toyota took the time, money & resources to research and produce quality products why hasn't GM done so by now?
Anyway, the CTS-V is a great effort but not good enough in my books
