Could be worse, 10's of thousands of Americans died in other major wars. There were a few unlucky ones, yes, but they died helping a noble cause, and that will not be over looked, and to many they will be considered heroes forever. Gotta figure 500 out of 100,000+ is just amazing, and just goes to show how far we've come along with our military.

I wouldn't use those factoids to trivialize their deaths. "Could be worse" marginalizes the loss.

And your point is?? People, die, it is one of the givens in life. Their 500 lives might have saved thousands, so you tell me which is worse?

Yes, it could be worse, but an American loss is bad no matter if it's a few or a lot.

seriously, regardless of how you feel you can't let one post go by untouched?

one can still be against this war, but support OUR troops

it's not like the soldiers packed up and over through Iraq on their own free will

We respect the soldiers, it just sucks that they are dying over there.

I hate for them and their families that they are dying for our cause, but proud of them for doing so.
