I am looking at getting a bigger vehicle. I love my GS, but I am doing more things that require me to carry a little more than what my GS can carry. I have looked at the RS6 and am very impressed with it. I have looked at the RS4 (only in europe) and have found only rave reviews. here is a link to the RS6, tell me what ya think.

450 hp/415 ft/lb torque is not something to mess with.

Get the sedan...only about 1K made for US consumption...and costs 88K! 450HP Bi-Turbo V8....I would love to get into one of those...but a wagon? Not for me...

If you want more space buy a used explorer and keep the GS and save yourself 80K.

I'd get the wagon. Rare as rare can get.

Good one KVA, used explorer!!

i would wait a few months until they start popping up used. Audi's have hideous resale values (which would be a good thing for you)

I really like those cars, nice looks, jaw dropping power, nice interior!!

Dont know about the reliability though

RS6 is in the same league as M5. I love to own one. If you do not plan to keep the Audi for more than 3 years and you have that kind of budget, i'd say go for it. Imagine an Audi wagon leave M5's in the dust:eek2:

Dude, if you can afford to even consider an RS6 (sedan or wagon), you shouldn't even be comparing that supercar with the likes of your GS.

At that price range, you should be considering a porsche, M5, Cayenne turbo, E55 AMG (or all the other 55s that AMG makes for Benzito)....then we will be comparing apples to apples.

But man, purely for the fact that it's an biturbo V8 and a wagon, I wouldn't even bat an eyelid and get one immediately!;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

As DGOT20s pointed out, you may take it in the shorts on depreciation, but jeez!!!! What a whip!! Talk about iron fist in a velvet glove...............I'd do it. My wife, OTOH, is not quite so understanding, so you'll be the only CL member who has one if you do.

Man get the Chrysler SRT 8 300C. It has 450 hp supercharged V-8, and all the suspension is Benz. I am thinking about getting that or the SRT 6 convertible crossfire with the 330 hp+ engine. Oh yeah Chryslers upgraded models are not built by the PPO division. Their built by AMG The crossfire has the same engine as the SLK32 just 19 less hp.

Wait, let me get this straight: you are comparing an Audi to a Chrysler?

jtanoyo1 mentioned the E55 as an alternative to the RS6...I would definitely opt for the former rather than the latter - reason being, you get more "bang for the buck" with the Benzo. That's just my opinion though. :)

For those of you who are interested. Here's an article from Motor Trend with the RS6 and the E55 going head to head.

To be totally honest I think M/B got the SHORT end of the stick in that merger. Just look at the Crossfire, even though it is riding on a SLK platform that Benz will soon replace, it is still a BENZ platform. The new 300 series will use the old Eclass' tranny and suspension, now the Crossfire will have AMG parts???:eek2:

C'mon, its gotta stop somewhere. What if Lexus and Kia merged and the Sportage rode on a RX330 platform?? How cheesy would that make us feel??

i would NEVER consider a Chysler product over a Audi, but from a parts content perspective the 2 are getting closer (since Chrysler is raiding a German parts bin at every turn:egads: )

RS6 wagon is a really nice car.
The recaro seats are awesome and it's easy to mod.
I'd go for it.

Reliability and service are my majority priorities when I look for a new vehicle regardless its size. MB, BMW, and Audi are behind Lexus on JD Power and Consumer Report surveys in these areas.

Actually have Chrysler and half Benz. For $45,000.00 you get Benz trans Benz suspension and Benz leather, Benz wood and, the best an AMG 450 hp engine. You could buy this and a Lexus for what an Audi RS6 might cost you. Be for real hear guys get over the whole name thing. Chrysler is really going somewhere. With 25 new cars in the next 3 years and 11 this year I can't see them not having some winners, plus they got Benz technology and AMG engines for half the price because of the name. I love the Audi. Really sweet car but no I am not rich and $86,000 without taxes and insurance is out of my league. But $45,000 isn't and AMG engine really sounds tempting, 450hp. If you do some searching Brabus has already done a Crossfire with a V-8 conversion.

I no this is far fecthed but has anyone seen the new Chrysler prototype super car? 850hp 850tq courtesy of AMG, oh yeah the engine weighs 525lbs. Car has 240+ potentioal 0-100 in 6.5 and 0-60 in sub 3. Sallen built a super car why can't Chrysler?

Anyway back to the topic man get the Audi if you can cause I can't have one and yes its sweet. No I wouldn't get the Chrysler over the Audi if I could afford it, but I just can't get over the 450hp AMG engine in a premium rear drive full sedan for less than $50,000. Oh yeah let me borrow that Audi if you get it:D

I would get any audi with the RS package over my GS. A whole different category of car.

Thanks for the input guys. I am going to check it out this weekend. They have a red one in right now, but I really want the grey/blue color. The one on the site. They did tell me that that is the next one due to arrive and no one has put it on hold yet. I will let you know how it turns out. I did test drive an e55 and it felt awesome, the only thing I didn't really like was the dealership. So I didn't want to get one from them. BTW the mercedes dealership in Hawaii is the only one in the state.
