No, it's an Italdesign concept for the Geneva Auto Show:
"With the hybrid powered coupe Alessandro Volta, Fabrizio Giugiaro wanted to demonstrate that “green” power plants can also be a high performance car.
Toyota provided to Italdesign-Giugiaro its latest hybrid power plant, the one to be used into the Lexus RX400.
Italdesign-Giugiaro created a specific carbon fibre chassis for this 4.3-meter long coupe.
The car is named after Alessandro Volta, the Italian scientist who discovered the battery.
As the V6 3.3 litre engine is mounted near to the rear axle, there are no transmission shafts, nor exhaust tubes which need a central tunnel in the car. Consequently, the flat floor permitted Italdesign to house three passengers in a coupe which is slightly narrower than 2 meters.
Thanks to the combination of the internal combustion engine and of two electric motors, one for each axle, the Volta has a total output of 300 Kw / 408 hp, reaches 250 kph of top speed and accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 4.06 seconds. But probably its most striking performance is the ability to cover 700 kms with a 52-liters gasoline tank."
I want one....right now
looks like RC car to me. very nice tho
the car top speed is only 156.25mph from over 400hps car is not too amazing but 31MPG from 400+hp car is definitely amazing
I am not really feeling the design.

ItalDesign concept for the Geneva Motor Show
by Giancarlo Perini
Feb 21, 2004 – The ultimate show car that Fabrizio Giugiaro of ItalDesign is finishing for the Geneva Motor Show will have an easy task at electrifying the visitors, but they will not be shocked. The design work tailored for the new two-seater, mid-ship coupe concept car is somehow predictable, and yet very sexy.
According to insiders, it may be painted in the same colour as the Alfa Romeo Brera (a colour that seems to be a sort of trademark for the Italian design house). Indeed what has turned Fabrizio Giugiaro on, was to be able to engineer a completely new sports car with the powertrain of the future from a blank sheet. With the support of Toyota, he has re-organised the components of a high performance Hybrid package that combines the benefits of a 3.0 litre V6 engine with two electric motors and new batteries. The package brings 350 kW of power and tons of torque driving the front and rear axles through two electric motors. The new show car will be named after Alessandro Volta, the Milano born inventor of the electric battery.
