I’m guessing they’re trying to show the similarities in the design themes. Since they’re not sure it’s a Toyota they’re highlighting the same wheel and such.

Well, trust me.....it's gonna NEED to be big. The Nissan Titan is going to kill the present Tundra in the marketplace. The Titan is a TRUE full-size competitor to the domestic F150 / Silverado / Ram trucks.....something we have never seen before from a Japanese manufacurer. The Tundra, like the T-100 before it........despite its marketing as a full-size truck......is in fact a three-quarter-sizer. It is about the same size as the Dodge Dakota....which, at least, is marketed by Dodge for what it in fact IS....a mid-size truck. The more recent Tundra Crew Cab is a little larger but still is not a true full-size truck.

You're right. The Tundra is a nice truck, but it's really small compared to my 2004 F-150. Even the Titan, while having a GREAT engine, still looks a bit small compared to my (wife's) truck. The Titan has good specs but I still don't like the look. I really think it looks cheap compared to the F-150 (which even I find hard to believe I'm saying - a Nissan looking cheaper than a Ford?). To me the F-150 just looks more substantial with nicer details.

This is a Ford gallery pic of our exact truck:

The Titan is large with a healthy V8, but the F-150 has grown a lot with it's latest iteration. Looks much better too, seems like most improvements on NVH and interior quality

Can't wait for a new bigger Tundra.

Yes, the upscale F-150 models, especially the Lariat, have dynamite interiors. The Lariat's rivals many luxury cars. And, yes, Nissan lately has had the tendency to use cheap and poorly-finished plastic in many of their interiors....not just the Titan's. This is a problem with many Chevy / GMC trucks, too. But the Titan's frame, towing capacity, HP / torque, interior room, seating capacity, etc.....is fully the equal of many domestic full-size pickups. The only significant differences between the Titan and the domestic full-size trucks is that Nissan does not build a regular-cab version with an 8-foot bed and does not yet have a dual rear-wheel diesel version. All of the Titans are either Club Cab or Crew Cab.

That spy pic looks too small to be the next Tundra; it's probably the next Tacoma.

well it turns out those spy pics were of the tacoma double cab. sorry.

http://www.thecarconnection.com/inde...&sid=178&n=158
The Toyota Tacoma Double Cab has been spotted recently - last week, for example, completely covered up with camouflage while driving on the L.A. freeways. Now we have additional pictures, this time minus 90 percent of the camouflage.

The new Tacoma measures in with a five-inch-longer wheelbase, and it's almost four inches wider than today's Tacoma. X-Runner styling cues are apparent - even under the camouflage. Buyers can expect to find the new Tacoma at dealerships as early as next fall.

too bad nobody wants the Titan, I think it's a good deal

http://www.autonews.com/article.cms?articleId=47903

Dealers are having trouble meeting sales projections for the full-sized Titan pickup and Armada SUV.

Nissan launched its first full-sized pickup in December. It predicted sales of 100,000 Titans during its first full year on the market. The Armada went on sale in October with expectations of 40,000 sales in 2004.

In the first quarter, Nissan sold just 14,207 Titans and 7,633 Armadas. When Nissan introduced the Quest in July, executives predicted sales of 80,000 to 85,000 in 2004. But volume has been between 3,000 and 4,000 a month.

The company had a 110-day supply of Armadas on April 1, a 97-day supply of Quests and a 95-day supply of Titans.

And last week, production for the three were:
Titan: 1957
Armada: 349
Quest: 796

The Titan looks good on paper but at work at the Lexus detail center someone traded in a brand new 2004 Titan for a Lexus (not sure which), but I can tell you, this truck was cheap in real life. The interior was blah, and when you slammed the driver door, the panel to the rear of it buckled. It was made of plastic! That right there made me want a good old steel heavy American truck. If someone got hit right behind the driver door, it would be lights out for them. But C&D gave it a win over the new F-150 in a head to head competition so it must have some really high high points.
