i just saw the "super bowl" commercial for dodge magnum.

i know the built quality could, could be a poXXX but wow, they sure got the balls to be less conservative.

When I think of Surfer Cars, I immediately think of the Honda Element...

My friend bought the Element last year and he surfs quite a bit.

The two cars that were notorious for surfers was the 1949 Woody Wagon and the1969 VW mini bus.

hmm...not sure if i really dig the Magnum. looks like it belongs in the fleet of a funeral home.

i know i am a bit bias but i will take my SportCross over the Mangum anyday.

here's the official site for the magnum (http://www.dodge.com/magnum/) (you can see the AD on the site)

The Holden Sandman is THE surfer automotive icon in Australia... well this is a concept but the original HZ 1977 Sandman was the icon...

Probably a toss-up between the Element and the PT Cruiser. Unlike the Cruiser, however, the Element has All-Wheel-Drive as an option and is designed for easy cleaning when you get all that sand and dirt in it at the beach.
The Scion xB more or less competes with the Element in looks, but is smaller, front-drive only, not as versatile, and, like the PT Cruiser, is not designed for easy cleaning like the Element.

Keep one thing in mind, though, when you have your car at the beach.....that intensely salt ocean air doesn't do exposed metal parts on the car any good. Try to limit beach exposure as much as possible.

The Holden Sandman....isn't that just an Aussie El Camino with a bed cap?? The front of that is the same as the Monaro, I believe (which is also the GTO)

Interesting car...I've never seen the Sandman before. Looks like it can go head-to-head with our PT Cruiser.
Yes, the Holden Monaro is the basic platform for the new GTO....with Americanized bumpers, safety gear, gauge readings, and emissions.....but the engine is different. The GTO uses a slightly modified 5.7L Corvette LS1 engine..... larger than its Australian engine.

For me, it would have to be a RX300/RX330, IS300 SportCross or LX470 with a Roxy sticker, driven by a hot surfer chick of course :)

The Holden Sandman is based on the Commodore ute/pick-up whatever you wanna call it.

El Camino?

As a surfer, I wouldn't be caught dead in that bloated POS Magnum

I went to high school on the east coast of FL, right across rom the beach. Most common surfmobile was a toss-up between the old Civic hatchbacks (circa CRX) and Jeep CJ's. A few VW microbuses, and an AMC Gremlin were also rusting quietly in the parking lot.
