View Full Version : Daimler Chrysler Short Range Radar SharpLS-96 04-10-04, 09:29 PM Coming to the U.S.A. soon. http://www-video.daimlerchrysler.com/dctv/videos/20040205_e.ram mmarshall 04-12-04, 10:36 AM No....absolutely NOT ! They can toss this one in the trash. We DON'T need any more electronic safety nannies. We DO need drivers that learn to PAY ATTENTION to what they're doing. It's interesting to note that many of the well-publicized problems with many of the newer M-B products that have them spending so much time in the shop have been with the electronics and the brake-by-wire systems. I'm all with you here...MB should spend it's time teaching it's drivers how to drive instead. SharpLS-96 04-12-04, 09:15 PM Even though M.B. is the inventor/leader in this "Short Range Radar" eventually all the manufactures will be offering this as an option in the U.S.A. It's not just an epidemic problem with M.B. drivers not knowing how to drive. I'd agree with the M.B. electronic problems though. Vegassc400 04-12-04, 09:24 PM Just what MB needs............more electronics to screw up. Why don't they try to get the gadgets they already have to work properly. Stage3 04-12-04, 10:25 PM now wait a sec... dont the LS430s have a laser guided cruise control that reduces the speed when it senses the car approaching another vehicle? To me i think that its the same concept, just not while on cruise control. :cylon: Bean 04-12-04, 10:39 PM i heard some car already has one coming that will slow the car to a complete stop in rush hour traffic; and i believe it is a toyota mmarshall 04-13-04, 07:43 AM Originally posted by Stage3 now wait a sec... dont the LS430s have a laser guided cruise control that reduces the speed when it senses the car approaching another vehicle? Gojirra99 04-13-04, 09:16 AM This Mercedes innovation not electronics related (http://www.canadiandriver.com/news/031204-6.htm) ;) I always think Lexus paint job is clearly superior to those of Mercedes, with the possible exception of the Designo custom paint. I think Lexus should offer something similar in the future. |
