i think chris bangle just destory the ultimate sport compat car feel and looks. it looks a lot bulkier and sterically hinder than the current E46.

You know, one of the reasons why the older generation Civics were loved because they had a similar profile to the BMW 3-series Coupe. But man, the outer pieces of the new 3-series tail lights look like they were stolen from the new generation Civics! But ignorning that, I'd say it looks pretty nice!

I've seen renditions that look better than this. Especially the tail end, doesn't look much better than that of the awful 5 series.

And you know what, it also looks a LOT like an Acura TSX/TL from the rear! But hey, I actually REALLY like it, but I'm probably the only one. I understand that it lays a fat turd on older BMW styling, but it has a very audi-esque side profile, with a very Japanese looking rear, and a very aggresive bangle front. If it weren't for the fact that they are hacking a better design, I like this car! I think it is the most liveable design out of BMW, much better than ANY of their current models, unless you count the SUV's and motorcycle's. This is just an opinion tho. . .

I like the front, the rear has no design; nothing is flowing, nothing matches.

BMW is probably using the same strategy which Coca Cola was using years ago.

First, Coca Cola developed a soft drink which a lot of people liked. Then, it reformulated its original ingredient and introduced a new soft drink called "New Coke" which a lot of people hated. After that, it brought back the original ingredient and voila! "Coca Cola Classic" was born which a lot of people like.

Man. . . if that is a chop job, it is really good! It looks very believable to my untrained eye.

Doesn't look too bad but not a car in my to get list.

Not as ugly as the 5 series but it looks much worse than the E46.

Yeah, it's a little better-looking than the other Bangle-Buggies....but not much. The BIG question (and the picture doesn't indicate)....does it have the You-Know-What on the console?:uh:

I have lost all hope on BMW for at least the next 5-6 years. Since they keep dropping bombs like these so all cars will be equally ugly, we can't expect a redesign any time soon. The other problem, I don't think they'd make a huge drastic design change for the next generations either, because...well, look what happened when they tried to do that now. :rolleyes:

The 3 series is a great looking car currently and seeing this makes me wonder if I there is some huge practical joke being played on all of us by trying to get us to BUY this crap. I'm ashamed BMW, I'm ashamed. I will never buy a Bangled Bimmer because they ruined beautifully designed cars.

It seems that BMW isnt going the way of convention for car makers. usually they radically redsign a popular car and see what the publics reaction is. thats what toyota did with the SC and the Celica. Both did very well, so they followed that same patteren for the rest of their lineup. Look at the Camry, Solaras, ES, LS... etc. you see lines from the Celica and the SC in all the current cars. (maybe not so much the LS). BMW seems to me that they are going the route of "We like it. So screw public Opinion." I fell in love with the new 7 when it was redesigned, but the others have been taking some getting used to. The 7 to me it seems went from being good, to being even better with redesign. It took a while for me to grab on the the new 5, but with the right body kit, it can look sick as hell. I really am not a big fan of the z4 or the x3. but the 3 series right now to me seems to be MUCH better than this puke.

Looks pretty good. The E39 5 and E46 3 may go down as the two best BMW body styles ever, so it's a real tough act to follow. I'm suspicious of a photochop as well, as I doubt BMW would use "parts bin" lights from the X3; at least I hope they wouldn't...

Those exterior mirrors look so scooterish.

I guess I am just going to have to hold on to my E36 a few more years longer before buying a new BMW.
