johnee78 07-08-04, 10:48 PM Very nice!!! I like how you color matched the fiberglass work with the color of the car..
lexusondubs 07-08-04, 11:28 PM very nice and clean

As he said, very cleanly done, paint matching is great, good job!
1SICKLEX 07-08-04, 11:49 PM It looks very well done but I am not a fan of the shape. I get thrown off by systems in sports cars anyway. They add so much weight to what should be a light car (though the Z is porky at 3300 lbs).
Got more pics? With showing more of the whole car?
Welcome to Clublexus, your first and 2nd post.
ATuning 07-08-04, 11:57 PM I can understand that....It was designed to be taken out fairly easily though (10-20 min of easy work and it's all out). Here's a pic showing more of the car

Who'd ever thought you need an old t-shirt for fiberglassing. Thanks for the detailed post. Just added to my favorites bookmark!:D Love your Z by the way.

Yup definitely do lol
Tight work man... i like the 350 and love the copper color z even more. I was looking at one, and possibly thinking about trading in the lex for one. not right now though... maybe later. Even still... thats one tight lookin z. I love the smoked out tail lights. all you need now is the Veilside Body kit, and youll be straight pimpin!
Hey you're from Maryland...why the NJ plates? :p
Very clean install BTW....how many fiberglass coats (resin / fiberglass mesh) did you build up? Is the thickness of that curved panel mostly made up of the fiberglass or the body filler? How thick did you make yours so the panel doesn't vibrate or break when you turn up the sub?
ATuning 07-10-04, 06:46 AM It's actually two layers and two batches of resin. In overlap areas it was more like three layers. The actual layer count does not matter because thickness is also dependent on the weight of the mat. I don’t know what weight cloth I had, but it is heavy. 12 layers of 2 oz mat is equal to 4 layers of 6 oz. mat for example. The entire shape is also curved which adds strength. A flat panel would need to be twice as thick to prevent resonation.
Oh, I'm actually from NJ, but live in MD now ;)
Looks good, very clean!!
