That's a sweet sweet new Crown Majesta Flash site. The video clips that introduce each feature of the car is beyond well done... Why is the video introduction on the Lexus website not even close to half as detailed as the ones on this site for the Crown MJ? (It's a total of 15-minute long video...and they barely waste any time on the pure image/impression stuff).

Man...*every* LS430 UL feature is there...4.3L V8, pre-collision system, rear-view camera, adaptive front lighting system, radar cruise control that can work till a complete stop, air suspension, rear seat controls for climate, massage...you name it!!!
PLUS a whopping 14-speaker ML audio system, all-wheel drive option, the parking assist (that parallel-parks/backs the car into garage/slot for you), the illuminating door sill logo, the side-mirror turn-signal blinkers, HID fog light, the trunk opener (that elegantly opens all the way up!!), lane keeping assist (OMG you've gotta look at the video 3 of chapter 2...it detects the lane markers and steers for you!!!!!!!!! Combined with the adaptive cruise control, you can just lay back and let the car drive!! Hands-free foot-free driving!!! I'm really blown away...), the manual height control and the Night Vision thing on the LX470, the START button for keyless ignition....and it looks sportier and less stodgy than the LS430 too!! Man oh man oh man..... Why can't we have it here??? ...*drooooool*.... The LS430, not to mention the rest of the world, is soooooo like 2-3 years behind this thing it's not even funny!!!

I'll never understand why Japanese companies always keep their best of the best products only to the JDM, as if it wouldn't sell like hot cakes elsewhere.:(:egads:
There's simply not one reason such a fine piece of automobile can't sell in anywhere of the world. (Okay so they may have to rebadge it to Lexus in some places but so what.) So please please please Toyota...bring it here and share the love!!:p

I really like the new body style yet have had the same fondness since the late 80's variants. Wish they would bring it to these shores.

Curiously, do any JDM cars have a Heads Up Display?

I love it! Hmm... maybe I'll be able to bring it into Australia later on? :D

Oh, I'm not sure about Toyotas, but JDM Nissans had HUD installed on some S13 Silvias and 180SX coupe, also the U13 Bluebird SSS turbo (Altima in the US I think it was called?)

There is no easy way to bring Majesta to Australia. According to may 2002 legislation you forbidden to bring any 4 door sedan and 4wd unless it's 15 years old :( #$%% !
I tried and believe me it will be cheaper for you to buy used Lexus here in Aus than try to import Majesta. Don't forget customs duty and 40% luxury car tax.

IMO the rear end reminds me of the new 7 series :egads:

Also, I got my trunk to pop up by putting on some new trunk struts.

I've been researching into this car for a while. I am trying to calculate to see if it's feasible to import this car here into Indonesia for my parents. But I might be looking at a $180,000 price tag. Yikes....

The Crown Athlete is probably the 2nd car (after a daily beater) that I'd add to my garage if it became available + me w/ the means to acquire it. What a beautiful car - the Majesta, too!

Toyota needs to add a few Crowns to the Lexus lineup.

EDIT: Actually, come to think of it, it'll be sad, not funny, for us...sigh...:(

I'll agree here. The back of the MJ looks too much like the M45 and the new 7-series. But I don't think the athlete has all the features that are available on the MJ.

I just found that Toyota/Nissan/Honda have had this Lane Keeping Assist option for their flagship for a year already.:eek2::egads: Just goes to show how behind their times we (the rest of the world) are.

Here's the Toyota's page that introduces their most advanced safety technologies.
http://www.toyota.co.jp/en/safety_presen/tech/28.html

The VDIM (Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management) is pretty neat too. Before, ABS, TRC, VSC and electric power steering systems had to work independently, but now with VDIM, they're integrated and managed together so that the effectiveness can be greatly enhanced.

And take a look at the Pedestrian recognition and network-based driving assistance. Amazing innovation for the future. I'd say that a 100% computer-driven road car isn't too far away with adavances like this.

Yeh, when I said I like... I meant that I like the exterior styling. Funny how we don't get any of those good technologies

LOL.:egads:I just did a check on the pricing of both Crown MJ and Celsior. The price range of the Crown MJ basically tops out at the bottom of the Celsior's range. So we can probably rest assured that Celsior will still remain their flagship and will include all the fancy goodies in the new Crown in the next refresh for Celsior in 2006.:)

Here's to hoping!:p

God that driver assist reverse parking feature is alot older than a year old.. I have a friend that drives the Toyota Ipsum family van... They put it in most cars now...:) Plus the cameras on the front to allow you to see from allys.... Would love to have it myself.. Pretty cool!...

This thing is sick!! The Crown makes the LS430 seem so outdated. Toyota better make these fatures available in Lexus soon!!!:eek2: Perhaps the 2007 LS??

I like it, but the rear end to me looks very similar to the Hyundai XG350- which is not a bad thing. The front of the car is very nice. Toyota should sell these cars here for those not wanting a Lexus, but wants more Toyota than a Avalon.

That would be an insult to the Crown. dont forget it was Toyota's first real car (Toyopet back then) Lexus is like what....15 years old?

Actually I was thinking about introducing the lexus brand in japan lately, although I didn't like it at first , then I thought that it would be better for the Crown, since it will make it to the top of toyota's range again.

Long live the Crown.

And thats a heap lot to get it to indonesia. I can import it here and pay like only 20% (if i remember corrcectly) of the car price to land it at my door house. catch it It will not be registerable unless the steering wheel is converted to the left. they do that for early 90's JDM's here, but a 2004 crown.....Forget it. :egads:

Hey! My brother's harrier was offered that same exact option for $4000, but we decided to let go of that option (3 cameras to assist your parking!) coz we really think there's no way we can be dumb enough to need the help of 3 cameras just to park. I'd rather get rims with the $4000.
