A bunch of us here in Atlanta went to the event and had a blast. They had most of the models there to drive, including 3 of the BRAND NEW (not even available yet) SLK350's, and 3 ($90K!) SL500s to THRASH around an autocross course. They definitely wanted you to go for it, having a sign at the start that said 'accelerate at full throttle' or something similar. 
The SL500 is SPECTACULAR in handling and brakes. The handling is so great because it has a full active suspension (their ABC or active body control) that keeps the car flat even when hammering into a corner. It was sublime!
I was *EXTREMELY* impressed. The event was also very well run (as it was at last year's C class event) although last year they had nice food and less fun and this year they only had smoothies, soda and cookies, but we had WAY more fun. Screw the food - I preferred this year!
Next time I'm in the market for a new vehicle I will definitely be looking at MB.

Here's a couple of the SL500s.
I did notice though that that plastic lower side rails on the white SL500s were discoloring
which I know has also been a problem on the GS. Disappointing to see on a $90K car though!

Wow man, that's bad on an SL. I know the GS's do that, but it can't be THAT bad. Anyways, that looks like a fun event. I'ved heard good things about the SLK, but honestly, that big Gonzo nose styling is really killing it for me, no matter what. I do like the fact it comes with a REAL manual transmission though.

on top of that..if one is remotely interested in buying a benzo, goto these events and get yourself some discount vouchers towards the future pruchase..last time it was $1500 off on any C-class (lease or finance)

This year it is 1500 off ANY new MB.
I am with bit - this was a blast! I tried my darndest to get that SL500 to break loose, but it stuck to the pavement like it had crazy glue for tires. Awesome feeling car. The SLK SOUNDS awesome under WOT. But, I hate that nose.
