Yeah. The answer is ... they don't. I've only ever seen single-turbo applications for the SR20DE (add a T for the turbo) ... applying a multiple-turbo setup might be possible ... but useless. This car, however, looks to be >/= 2002 (my guess is that it's an 04 or 05 judging by tail-lights) model year when Nissan began using the dopey 2.5 liter I-4 ... and I don't believe this motor readily accepts any turbo - much less two of them. M. Banchi105 09-26-04, 09:33 PM I too thought the same thing. Hyper-Performance Brembo's on a mediocre performance car. Maybe they should of put the money elsewhere? :egads: verylost 09-26-04, 10:31 PM I don't understand the bashing on this sentra. It's a semi light weight car that can be made to handle well. It could probably outhandle most of our lexus's on an autoX course. Let's step back and take it all into perspective. Many of us own 2000+ lb cars. Some near and surpass the 3000 lb mark. Yet we also put big brake set ups and suspension set ups on our cars. On some days, I would call all lexus's mediocre performance cars. Does this mean that we, lexus owners, shouldn't put performance parts on our cars either? videcormeum 09-27-04, 02:48 AM Originally posted by verylost I don't understand the bashing on this sentra. Well, here's the thing about the Sentra's handling ... the multilink rear setup screws it up pretty badly; that on top of the fact that it's not exactly riding on one of the most rigid chassis' out there (not even in the segment). That aside - like wantAnewLex said - I don't think that the "ultra Brembo brake performance" package (or whatever it's called) includes ABS. Also ... I do believe that every Lexus vehicle (in factory condition) weighs well over 3000 lbs. If we all had your attitude, there would be no performance modified lexus's at all. videcormeum 09-27-04, 02:54 AM Originally posted by verylost You can't blame the owner of the sentra for trying to make his car a little better. Hey man, I'm a-ok with modding ... but this isn't even a mod :) - Nissan offers a package for the SE-R Spec V which includes those brakes. Offering factory Brembos seems to be (as has been mentioned a couple of times elsewhere on the forum) a sort of marketing device. And I just think that in this case - Brembo brakes don't really do a whole lot for the car considering the relatively high expense of having them. The stock brakes on my SE (4 wheel discs) work just fine. In fact, they stop my car from 60-0 in about 135 ft. If you need to stop quicker than that - maybe you should drive more carefully. M. meZoom! 09-27-04, 11:19 AM Last year I went car shopping and the salesman at the Nissan dealership thought I didn't know anything about cars so he tells me with a straight face: "yeah these brakes are straight off of the Skyline 34R (yes he said that) and made to fit for US spec. Check out the strut bar in this too!" gawsh it sucks being me sometimes. Why/How are you attempting to draw a parallel between a criticism of a car with an obviously over-done brake system and Lexus mods in general? And as was stated, that is a factory feature, not an owner mod. :o And again, as M. stated, I can't think of a single Lexus that has rolled off the production line weighing less than 3000lbs. You would pretty much need to rip out the interior of the Lexus and then some to get it into the 2000lbs. range. The Sentra SE-R, really, is a shame. I believe they run those cars in the Speed GT championship or something and they do well, but that's because they're very heavily modified. And let's face it, you can mod just about anything to make it a capable performer. |
