Hmmm....I came across this car for sale locally here in Jakarta tonight. It's a stationwagon with 2.0L turbocharged 3S-GTE powerplant, pushing out 260hp (but as we all know, that' probably underrated), tiptronic shifter, 4WD, 17in wheels, optitron speedometer. Basically, the Caldina GT-4 is the Japanese Toyota's answer to the Audi RS4 wagon. It's for sale for $50k here in Jakarta, brand new, grey import, very very rare, and the price tag in Japan is $25k, so it's about right with indonesian import taxes and all.....

....what to do....what to do...... :egads:

Here are some pics:

I really love this car, and I know Globe does too.

I would most probably give my first-born son to get my hands on this thing. Ridiculously sick.

Maybe, but I doubt it. I don't think blue and dark gray go together, the shifter housing looks weird, and what's with the non 1/2 oval cluster cover? Also i think the vents are in a V configuration

I think that Caldina is the 2002 model because from 2003 on the Caldinas get gray interior trim, the blue was only for 2002. But that's only for JDM models and maybe it's different for other places.

Caldina rocks. We need a Scion Caldina here.

You already know my opinion Joko drop the civic and get it. Do you really want a front wheel drive honda in your garage of cars? ;)

Wow, I really like, orr I would really like it if was a 6-speed. That would prolly be a fun little car to drive, especially in coupe form

I don't think it's related to the Matrix.

Just because one car looks like another, doesn't mean they're related.

Very nice car.

I believe we don't get the car because of emissions?

I like the Caldina GT-4... there's a couple running around Australia. Hehehe it's like having a Celica GT-4 in a wagon bodyshell.

Why would it ever be in a coupe form? It's a station wagon, that's the whole point of it! :D :D :D

We had an Orange JDM Caldina at last year's Carson Meet. The guy who brought it worked for CALTY...it wasn't the 3S-GTE version unfortunately, but none the less it was a real JDM Caldina. No one else can claim that a new pre production Right Hand Drive Caldina was displayed at any other North American Toyota/Lexus owners meet. :D

what does optitron speedo mean?
basically just rings like matrix? or something refering to "good for the eyes?"

Optitron is the name coined for Toyota & Lexus electroluminescent guages. Yes like those found in the new Corolla, Matrix and originally from Lexus.
