$200,000 for the M5? Sounds quite expensive.
With that kind of money, I would rather get the LS430, GS430 and the SC430.

It's believable if it's in Australian $ , & import taxes on cars are notoriously high there.

Hi there
This is why I do not like BMW. Their cars are over-priced.
Yes, a V-10 Engine with 500 HP for a Sports Sedan is an amazing accomplishment for BMW. But a fifth of a million dollars for it?!?!?
BMW, you guys need to be more realistic about pricing.

Hi there
My grandfather bought his 2003 LS430 for around $115,000 U.S. dollars in Seoul, Korea. This includes the luxury tax, and other expenses. But an LS430 in the U.S. costs around only $68,000.
So if the M5 costs around $200,000 in the U.S., imagine what the M5 would cost in Korea!!!

That's not the U.S. price, the new M5 will cost about the same as a E55 in U.K.

That's actually $144,640 USD @ 1.38 AUS Dollar conversion from $200K.
They must have heavy taxes on imports in Australia...I would assume that the M5 would be in the $80K+ US range to compete with the E55.

Remember one thing though, the UK has enormous Taxes that are built into the price of the car. So your guess is probably about right.
66,715 GBP United Kingdom Pounds = 111,085.13 USD United States Dollars
1 GBP = 1.79880 USD 1 USD = 0.555925 GBP
Damn... i didnt know the Dollar was loosing that much clout...

Hey buddy, long time no see.
I want performance,......but driving here in New York City, it is impossible to go over 30MPH.
Take care.

P.S. Thanks guys for clarifying the price. Wow, so around $90K? Not bad. So it's the M5 or the SC430 PLUS the IS350. Hmmm,.........

They're nuts if they would ask more than $80K USD. Of course they would still sell every one the make, but that's too much for me, even if I had the money.
I would have a hard time not picking one of the "lesser" AMG models for that money...C55.

i would take the M5 in a heartbeat over the IS+SC430... thats just my opinion.... the M5 offers the heart of a racecar and the ability to carry up to 4/5 passengers comfortably. i like the E55 but mercedes quality control has been horrible of late and the steering probably feels dead when compared to the M5.
