i saw the video last night.
the Holden Monaro = Pontiac GTO correct?
they like the styling of the 300C but felt let down by pretty much everything else. for folks who have driven the 300C is this a fair assessment?

It took me close to 2 hours

.....but well worth it! So basically they're saying the 300C is a piece of crap (in terms of being a "driver's car").

I respect that show and it's great for entertainment, but they kind of make my blood boil on how they do meaningless tests and then talk trash a lot. Hey guys, NOT EVERYTHING IS MADE FOR DRIVER DYNAMICS. The 300C is an excellent car for its segment, and isn't made to compete in handling tests with the Jag and more powerful Holden/Vauxhall/Pontiac coupe. They said it had no torque within the powerband...it has 390 lb ft of torque! 9 less than the Jag!

If they're truly interested in handling, acceleration, etc., why do it on sand? Jesse Owens never ran his fastest on sand, these cars are gonna perform like garbage in sand, it's not an ideal condition for any test they did. You all saw how the Vauxhall dug itself in.

Oh, and one last thing, they were so proud of how the British Jag (since when is Ford British) could squeeze so much power out of a "tiny" engine. Ok, they did it the only way Ford knows how to make big power, with a blower. It's not some fantastic engineering feat, and the other cars aren't wasting space. They're pushrod engines keeping complexity and price down.
