Never saw this thread subject before. Chime in!
How long does it take to wash your car? Usually I start at 8:00 Saturday morning and finish around 10:30. A weeknite wash is a 1 hour quickee. But Sat morning, everything gets done. People think I'm crazy cleaning everything but I think it's fun. Then I sit there about 30 minutes after it's done to just admire it. I know you guys know how I feel!

about 1.5 hours for the outside (can easily be more)
about 1 hour for the inside (can easily be more)
so minimum 2.5 hours for a clean, but it can go for like 4 hours.... and I don't wax it or anything either.
I'm a freak when it comes to detail, and I'll scrub / vacuum the same spot for 10 minutes if need be to get it cleaned.

After washing, scrubbing the tires, polishing the wheels and drying off, I'm usually into the better part of 2 hours. That's about to change since the weather is getting frigid. . .
. I hate taking my baby to the carwash!!! It never cleans it well. I'm just glad I got my last Zaino treatment on recently!!

Mine probably lasts an average of 2.5 to 3 hours for the exterior. This includes (in the following order): wash, dry, clay, dry, polish, Scratch-X, seal & glaze, wax, then clean and dress the tires, and wax the wheels (if needed). When it gets too cold to wash by hand, I'll go to the local touchless/brushless car wash that does a decent job for $7 (their air drying mechanism sucks though).

about an hour and a half if Im jst cleaning it. (wash outside, vaccum inside) If im going to detail it (clean everything take out the seats and clean the rugs, basically make the car new) it takes about 12-14 hours. That includes hitting it with the clay bar and cleaning, glazing, and two layers of Carnuba wax.

1.5 hours for me. I never use my wipers/water to clean my windshield; it gets a sponge wipe & buffed dry w/ 2 towels every day after work, which also keeps the glass smooth. It's hard work, but your ride looks so damn good and always get a high resale!

you got that right... you can never get it totaly clean. after you think youre done, youll find a bit of brake dust somewhere else.

Typical break-down:
Wash and dry 40-50 minutes
Tire dressing 10 minutes
Wipe interior 10 minutes
Wipe engine covers and hoses 10 -15 minutes
Clean & condition leather 20 minutes
Vacuum 15 minutes
Wax 2 hours
My crazy thing: On the last day it is expected to rain, I leave the car out and wash it while it is coming down. After a soap, the rain rinses it off and I just pull it into the garage and dry it. Nice thing is the rainwater doesn't seem to leave water marks so if I miss some spots, no big deal. But I have to be in the mood and this works much better when it is raining hard.

Some of you guys are fast. It takes me 2 hours just to wash the outside (including wheels). This is just to wash, no clay, no wax, no treatment. The wheels do contribute a big chunk to this time. It usually seems to go pretty fast until I look at the time and then realize

1-1.5 hours drying my wheels inside and out (barrel is polished, so that needs attention)
30 minutes to vacuum carpets and seats (no more leather, must keep brides clean)
10 minutes to clean dash
45 minutes of backbreaking efforts to wax the rear section where the rear seats used to be
the whole day to look and admire what a good job i did

a while ago my wife read on magazine and it talked about doing exercise if you are busy. and among the top 10, washing car actually burn the most calories of all
now that's good exercise

That's funny. My wife sat in her car while I washed it the other day. She seemed to be really enjoying it.
