Test Drove a 2004 4Runner Limited AWD - V8
I am currently in the market for a GX470, but I had to test drive her sister the 4runner the other day.
It was a 2004 4Runner Limited V8 / AWD with XREAS suspension and I was impressed!
I previously had 1999 4Runner Limited and, it was a great truck, but so floaty and cushy with a small gas tank (making me fill up on gas all the time). This new gen 4runner with sports supsension and that beautiful V8 makes this a totally different car for the MUCH better! The ride was smooth, handling was very good and so powerful. The 2005 4runners will have the increase in HP for the V8 also.
IMHO, the 4runner is sportier than the GX470, but still different vehicles overall. So the debate will continue to see if a loaded 4Runner is worth the $10,000 savings instead of getting a GX.
