2006 GS300 Up Close & Personal in Miami (Works Now: 56K Beware)
I just came back from Miami Auto Show and I must say I had a blast. You can guess where I went first right? 2006 GS300 of course
Here is my first impression "Ughhh.. ". On the first sight it didn't live up to the hype to me ... BUT (a big but) when I started takin pictures of it and spend some time with the car I fell in love with it. This car has so much to it than on the first glimpse.
Let me just say that the silver color doesn't do nothing for the car, it just makes it soulless and blend. 17" wheels have to go as they make car disproportional. And finally the car was on the platform and people see it from low angle unlike on the street where you observe all cars from high angle. Those 3 things are only cons I found on this presentation.
Car has some curves let me tell you that! I must have spent more than 45 minutes with the car, either just staying there and observing it or just walkin around and somehow always coming back to it. '06 GS fascinated me. Interior is wonderful despite to grey leather which I don't like (thanks to BMW and their smelly gray leather) and black wood is just gorgeous. The side wood inserts on doors don't look misplaced at all like it seems from some pics.
One little detail in cabin I fell in love with is the small compartment left to the driver that slides down and some extra controls come up. Controls for sunshade, mirror folds (that is a plus in my book) and power trunk close. There are more buttons but the girl didn't name or demonstrated all of them.
The car is very sharp! I must tell you there was also Infiniti M concept and MB CLS and I have to say that all three of them equally good. I can't pick up the winner that easily but GS and M leave CLS behind. CLS is the car that is more photogenic than it is beautiful in real life, it has some weird tackiness to it.
So here are the pics. Just have in mind that car was moving so freakin fast on the platform and I didn't have a better camera with me. I had intention to photograph details and lines of the car instead of the whole car which we have already seen so many times

UPDATE: I had some problems uploading so SICK took care of it! Thanx Sick
