school or work...hmmmm
got an offer from my parents that they would pay for my school if i go full time. That would mean no more work.
Now the catch... I would have to get rid of the Lex for a car that would be PIF (Paid in full).
I have until the summer/ fall semester to make a decision. Im torn...
damnit.

If I had to choose btw school and my car. As much as I love my car, I def would have to get rid of it for my education.

What is the situation exactly? Do you work to pay for your tuition and for car payments or just the tution? Also, does working have an adverse effect on your grades? If so, take you parents' offer. Then again, they are also offering you a paid up car. What kind of car? Having a car and going to school and not working is a pretty sweet deal.

I work to pay for my car and school and all the other bills I have (insurance, cell, credit, yadda, yadda, yadda). Actually the came up with the deal because im doing so well with work and school. the only problem is, is that with work to qualify for tuition reimbursment, you can only take up to 2 classes a semester. so that equates to about 5 years to finish the last remaining 2 years for my BS (Psychology). So their intentions would be for me to finish school faster. as for the car, it would be up to me. Im looking at something with a Turbo (Eclips, or MR2, something like that). but yet again we come over to the next problem, i dont fit in a lot of cars because i have long legs. Whatever, ill figure it out.

Here's my .02. Take it for what its worth. I say if you have something you KNOW you want to do in school, go for it, and drop everything else. I, on the other hand, did not. Therefore I "dropped out" now for a year. I don't plan on going back though I have 55 credits waiting for me to go back and claim them. I've realized there is nothing a 4 yr school could do to make me happy in my life. I've found something else I love and will live for and am dropping alot to go for it. So, yea, if you want to do psychology for the time being, go for it, cars aren't that important as they are only a small part of your life.
Good luck with whatever you do and decide on.

Believe it or not, but that a REALLY good piece of advice. I sincerley appreciate it. im getting closer to making a decision, as i am going car shopping this weekend. Its not official, but im leaning really hard on going full time. i still have a lot of sleep to think this over with...

what kind of job do u have right now? for me it would depend on how much the job was worth. if the job is just whatevers then i would def. go back full time. depends where ur heading career wise. i have a coworker that dropped out early to work. now hes going back part time while working but its going to take a really long time to finish up the degree. (at least 5 more years) and without the BS he is having problems furthering his career...

Right now I work for a credit card processing company as a Senior Fraud Analyst. basically, i watch credit card activity all day. thats kind of what i want to do as a career, but im still undecided. my sister did not really feel that school wasnt her thing so after one year she went to work full time. shes doing pretty well considering she doesnt have any degree. but shes pretty much at the ceiling as to what she can do with out one. so im definatley going to finish, I just dont know what year...

as much as I would cry to see my Lexus go, I (this would be the first time me saying this) would let go of my Lexus just for schooling. Think of it this way, once we're done and earning good $$$, we can have all the time to our Lexus (depending on our careers though)

I totally agree with guessed, took me 117 credits to realize, i got 2 more classes left and i dont plan to finish because the computer science major has nothing to offer me with what i am doing now. I am happy doing what i enjoy, even tho its manual labor, sitting at a desk all day in front of a screen just isnt my thing, nothing can beat been active all day and working on cars, i can not sleep all night and be able to focus at work the next day.

Wow dude; 2 classes left? I may sound hippocritical but if it is just 2 classes, finish it up!!!! just cause... But about the working on cars all day. It might start gettin to you. It sure got to me after I finished building my other car. I can't wait til the day when I pay for others to work on my car as I just watch and tell them what to do and not to do. No more yelling, throwing things across the garage, and breaking parts from relieving car stress.
But back on topic, go for what you love even if people think its a crazy idea. That's what I'm doing, going up against all odds.

well as it turns out, Im going to be able to keep the GS. I dont know how, but my parent said they are just going to pay it off (Im starting to get suspicious... maybe they won the lotto and didnt tell me. Or maybe they are selling cows. who knows). all i know is that I get to keep my car, but have to bust my ass to make sure I make it worth it for my parents. Now I just gottat get my ducks in a row and get all my scholarships in line. August cant come soon enough!!!
