since there's not a bike section here for this thread to go to, this should be the next place most appropriate to post.
as all of us know and many times make fun of, plunging into L.A. traffic everyday doesn't make Los Angelinians the happiest kids in the morning. freeway 405 and freeway 10 are perhaps more of the infamous ones....
as I'm seeing more and more commuters to take advantage of the agility of the crouch rockert as a weapon to fight back the torpic traffic, I'm curious what other of you deem as the lexus(or honda) in the bike world.
I know some of you CL members such turbopimp and jimmy540i(if recalled correctly) are acutally owners of these speed demons, so I'm confident that the responses to this thread will be enthusiastic. who knows, maybe this will even be made into the OFFICIAL BIKE THREAD OF CLUB LEXUS!!
If you can't upload the pix of your dream/fav bikes as OLT has been kind enough to inform me, due to the adolescence of our fabulous new site, please do list their names and specs.
hey look pretty sweet in candy metallic orange..
some of them listed close to 10g on ebay. one of them close to 20g. burbo charged, 400, 500 hp... are those bikes even possible to be manned??!
biker, nice pix u got, looks like a post card!! a question for u. u mentioned that this ride is more practical, i notice it's got some lugguage boxes on the side. in additional to that, does it ride more comfortble and thus provide longer riding time? one thing i can foresee riding a super street rocket is that my arms and back will give out prolly in less than 10 miles....
RT-- sweeeeeeeeeeeet ride. where u in california r u located at? i'll shoot u a PM as ur suzuki was one of the first bikes i was looking into!

earth warning-- aliens prohibited beyond this yellow line.
I switched to the Pan (ST1300 in the US) because my comfortable riding time on my previous Honda CBR600 was down to about 1/2 hour (getting old). Here's a pic of my old ride:
I got a custom moded seat which now allows me 3-4 hours ride time between stops. I did a 600km 10hr ride in the French Alps without problem (the pic of my Pan above is from the French Alps)
sold em due to friends getting married or into accidents
be safe remember the blinkers lol

Thanks bro.. i love this bike.. off the showroom floor the power is insane. Ive since added an air filter, full titanium exhaust, computer, chain conversion and sprokets... now its just crazy. I gotta take this thing to the drag strip one time and see what it does.
2000gs300-- Im in Fremont, Ca... thats in the bay area If this 1000 is gunna be your first bike, i highly recommend against it... just too much power. I had an 02 CBR600F4i before this, and even that was pretty damn powerful... so much fun though
thanks guys for the feedback! yup, all i need is a baby bike to get around. a used 600 appeals to me for economical reasons. where do i sign.
When shoping for a bike be careful when considering an older bike with carbs vs. newer one with fuel injection (most makes were switched 2-3 years ago). The first year of FI bikes there was noticeable notchiness and abrupt throttle response (compared to much more linear action on a carb bike). A bike like that might be difficult to handle by a noob.
I'll tell you my opinion, so take it for what is worth it.
I think you are much better off if you start with a 250cc like 1992 EX250, the reason is you can learn much faster and accurate on this type of bike than with bigger CC, what I mean by learning is not just to ride, learn to avoid the unexpected, learn to stay alive on two wheels. 600cc has more power than MANY riders with years of riding can handle. more power means you have to spend more attention to work with it, than paying attention to see what is going on around you. always you can change your bike, but you can not reverse a serious injury.
Just my two penny.
