thanks. I am no expert in post processing but intend to dabble a bit into the world of RAW. :p
Nice to see that I can pick up some pointers here from the photo experts.

I am using the kit lens-18-55.

That is one cool looking dog....!

Are you using RAW conversion via Photoshop or PhaseOne?

Thank you Percy. I just used it in auto mode for .jpg straight out of the box. No post processing other than I reduced the file size.

Lee,

Give Phase One/Capture One a try. You'll be amazed at the difference between .raw and .jpg, even when compared to the Photoshop conversion utility. The guy that I'm helping out used to shoot his sessions entirely with .jpg. I got him to shoot .raw and he hasn't gone back since.

It's a 30 day (or 15?) free trial. Makes ALOT of difference.

Percy, I convert my RAW with Photoshop ... I'm pretty sure it's lacking since it's not a full fledged RAW conversion program, just a plugin -- Would there be a vast improvement in RAW capabilities if I switched to this Capture One program?

DEFINITELY. With photoshop, I find the results acceptable. With Phase One...holy smokes!

Anyone try Bibblelabs? http://www.bibblelabs.com/ I hear its a pretty good program for raw images. Even has a photoshop plugin.

Hey Lee, welcome to the 20D club. :D

LOVE your pics - my wife immediate asked the name of your dog?!?!!? :D

What memory card did you get? I got the Lexar 80x 1GB card and it's been excellent and fast.

Hello Paul

thanks for the compliments. Quincy would be the name of the pug as he swears he knows everything!

Still learning the capabilities of the camera. I have a Twinmos 1gb card. Lexar is hard to find from my usual sources as they are all sold out.
Here are a few more.
