Still Life -- This two week photography assignment is on still life. Take any ordinary object and try be as creative as possible. A good thing to do on a subject like this is to focus a lot on detail of the object itself. I'm sure this will be a fun one that everyone can join in on.

Post your submission(s) as a reply into this thread.

Remember, have fun taking these shots and feel free to mention any tricks you end up learning!

Nice use of depth of field bro. I especially like the last one ... kinda eerie feeling.

Still waiting on shots from your latest toy ;)

Ok two more. I was sitting on the couch and shot a pic of a print that is on my wall. My favorite print in the house. :) Then... i got bored and just shot a pic of my lens cap lol. Both with the 300d.

OLT. Nice comparison 300D vs. G6 on those shots. You can see that with the kit lens on the 300D, it's at times not as sharp as the G6.

That is why you need to go buy yourself some lenses :) Remember the 50mm f/1.8 prime that both bit and I have. It's amazing. Crazy sharpness and depth of field and the ability to take shots at an aperture of 1.8 (fast light absorbtion ... great for low light conditions) !

Here's the lens box .... and it's an inantimate object, so guess that counts :)

True that, but look at how small the difference is out of the box between the two cameras and a $500 difference in price between the two!

G6- $599 SLR-like 7.1 MP

300D- $1099 SLR 6.2 MP
