Just got my May isue of EC magazine. You guys should check it out...it's an enthusiasts edition all the way. I know it focuses on euro's but check out this line-up. There's a feature on:
Renntech SL600 with 625 bhp
Jaguar S-Type R with 390 bhp
Two D2Technik M3's 420 bhp
Audi RS6 450 bhp
Farboud GTS 400 bhp
And the topper, 2 Jaguar XJ220S's pushing 680 bhp and capable of reaching 228 mph. I had never thought of customizing a car like the XJ220 but TWR has done it. They made five of them and I believe 3 are in the US. I don't have a pic of the two in the mag...they have beautiful kits and Kinesis wheels. Here's a red one I found on another site. Check out the mag.
Wow...no love for the XJ? I'm shocked. It's all good. I got enough love for everyone. I remember this car from the early 90's. Seeing that documentary of it hitting 200mph was memorable. The goal was 220....hence it's name but they got it to 200...maybe a teench more. I remember the car didn't shake, rattle or roll after countless pounding. It was Jag's first attempt at a super car in the modern era. It left the track and was docile enough for street use. Some don't like the design but I think it's a beauty. It's only 11 years ago...some of you must be old enough to know about this car.
What have they done to my XJ220!!!
I LOVE that car.....but now they made it look like a kit built Ferrari poser...........
I remember a stock XJ220 can get past 200mph, right?
is this TWR the same TWR that ran the Volvo 850 wagon in BTCC?
DAMN, that car was one of my favorites. I think it still might be. I have a diecast model of it in British Racing Green in my room back home. Had it since I was a kid. Was one of my favorites.
Wasnt the reason for it not hitting 220 was because they had to use a smaller engine. The bigger one didnt meet emissions or something like that. Because of that, wasnt it somewhat of a flop??

Yeah, during the concept phase, prospective buyers were promised a V-12 powerplant.
But they end up building the car with a twin-turbo (I think) V6
