This is a terrible survey! First off the RX base price is $36,675 for the FWD with no options. How does it get in the under $35K category?
Next, the M45 is in the under $45K category.
There are tons of other mixups (like the XC90 being in the category below the MDX)
How can you get realistic results when your categories are pooched?
Yuuup...I was looking for the RX in the $45K category and didn't find it and that's why I was first complaining about the absence of the RX. (whew thanks for making me look less stupid)
(XeroK00L, I'm not knocking you on this, just Edmunds or Consumers Most Wanted).
Ooouch.... now that was stupid. Guess I just wasn't paying attention when I posted this thread LOL.
OK, now you should vote for the Most Significant Vehicle of the Year.
Choose a groundbreaking design that changes the rules of a given segment,
creates a brand-new niche or redefines an automaker's image. And remember,
it must be 2005 model.
In the over 45k sedan category, there were 2 Lexus cars.. the LS and the GS. The winning Audi got 17% of the votes, while the 4th place LS got 16%, and the GS got 9%. Having 2 Lex competing against each other probably hurt them... if there was no GS and all of those votes went to the LS, then the LS430 would have won with a whopping 25% of the votes

just something to think about
Very good point. It's bad categorization on Edmunds' part. The market is clearly not divided by this near-meaningless $45k mark, not to mention the base GS actually starts below $45k.
