What do yall think about this pic??? Some one saw this car sitting at a mall in Minnesota and took some pics with there camera phone. They truely believe its the new Accord because of the other similarities(side profile and front which didnt come out to well in the pic, but it appears to be an Accord). Hopefully this is not the new Accord because they didnt fix the back end, but made it a lot uglier. :thumbdn: :thumbdn: :thumbdn:

Can't be; the current Accord is only in its 3rd year of 5.

Looks like a Honda from the rear but the 2nd pic is too blurry for me to decifer what it is...

Hmmm, the shape of the rear bumper reminds me of that from the Altima and the Maxima, so it could possibly be some sort of Nissan. What throws me off though is the location of the reverse lights (side by side from the license plate); not many vehicles have that feature :uh:

This is certainly a mystery car to me, I have no clue at all. I wonder who can guess what it really is?

It also looks like a Pontiac Grand Prix.

That looks too big to be the Civic.

The back end of the Civic Si concept looks really nice. As much as I like the IS350 I like the rear end of the concept Civic better. Well, minus the rear wing.
Too bad it isn't a better picture as I can almost make out an emblem on the rear trunk. It could be a Honda, but maybe not. It could also be a Hyundai emblem as well

Oh no....its definitely not the Civic, it is to big, but I'm just showing that maybe its a new family resemblence that Honda will be incorporating next year. From the side pic even though really blurry looks to be an Accord(the window area appears to be exactly the same as the current one, but I could be wrong, to me thats what it looks like).

I agree it looks very close to the back end of the Pontiac Grand Prix......& never said it best.....it can be the new Accord.......it's not due for a complete re-design yet. The just came out with the Hybrid Accord V6.

06 refresh. A major one at that. Accord sales are tanking so they had to do something major.

I'd still buy the Camry (V6 SE) over the Accord anyday.

Pontaic G6.
Not quite. Very significantly different. Doesn't have that strange bulge towards the third brake light. No middle reverse lights. No dual exhaust. And license plate mount isn't between the lights.

My vote is that its something american only because american car designers are good for such things as bulging third light fixtures on a trunk, to my knowlege I don't think such methods are common on imports. The one and only thing that throws me off is the dual pipes most american cars dont use that tip style hmm.

You know what though remember this car was sitting in a common mall parking lot so its surely not some special unreleased car other wise it would have been masked, so that rules out the Accord. Hmm the plates do not look like Minn plates are those Canada plates? seeing that Minn is like right under Canada maybe its just some common car thats there and not sold here and they drove down to visit family or something.

When did the current Accord come out, fall '01? Isn't the '06 a total redesign due this fall?

Reading through some other forums, it seems like someone has been seeing this car all through Ohio(isnt that where Hondas plant is????). They did say that it is the Accord and also state that Honda is planning a dramatic change to the current Accord because of falling sales. I'll see what else I can get out of these Honda enthusiasts.

Its pretty funny how this car is parked between two Hondas.

Actually the car on the right looks to me like a Lexus IS 300, I don't think the Accord is due for a redesign because typically the Camry comes out first then the Accord a year later.

Looking at the confirmed photos the side profile actually looks pretty good. The car now looks longer and less bloated/fat. The rear is okay, but I still don't like how they positioned the 3rd brake like. It looks like it is just stuck on the trunk. They should have intergrated it into the trunk like the G2 Legend Coupes (94-95 model). I also noticed it will have LED tail lights. Over all I think it is a decent update from the current Accord. Nothing spectacular, but looks good over all. From the looks of the trunk lid, it looks like you will have easy access into the trunk. It should be interesting to see what the coupe version will look like.

It's better than the ugly a$$ rear of the current, but still not appealing overall. The Accords of the past generations look more attractive.
