Just an excerpt posted, follow link for entire story and other makes....

The new IS sedan, complete with its very first diesel engine, goes on sale later this year. The aluminum common-rail 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel will be a Europe-only option. With a power output of 177 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, the Lexus IS diesel will offer the highest performance in its class. For the U.S., the IS will be available with a 204-hp V-6 gas engine with direct injection. Both engines will be teamed to a six-speed gearbox, whereas the V-6 will also be offered with a sequential six-speed automatic transmission. The car will be equipped with PCS (Pre-Crash Safety System), ACC active cruise control, intelligent active cornering lights, ten airbags including knee airbags, and the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management stability system.

The next new hybrid entry from Lexus is the GS450h . The prototype revealed at Jacob Javits Center will be a hybrid-electric version of the all-new sports sedan Lexus launched earlier this year. The 450 starts out with a 3.5-liter V-6, which is mated to a high-output electric motor. Together, they are expected to pump out "over 300 horsepower," according to Lexus marketing manager Mark Templin. That should help the hybrid more than match the performance of the V-8-powered Lexus GS430, launching from 0-60 mph in less than six seconds. Company officials say the most noticeable improvement in performance will be felt at passing speeds, in the 30-50 mph range.

interesting notes on the gs450h. does that mean it will lack the mid to high passing speed at around 60 to 80mph?

They said the same thing in the press release when it was introduced in New York, just emphasizing the 30-50 passing speed. That doesn't necessary mean it won't match or surpass the GS430 in 60-80 though . . .

Great read So how many Toyota vehicles are due up for redesigns now?
The Echo,Tundra,Rav4......hopefully we get a Celica replacement,if we don't, how about an MR2 hardtop fitted with the 1.8 liter found in the Celica (Lotus isn't gonna buy the whole batch of engines ).
