I am planning to purchase a radar detector V1 or 8500 escort, but not sure which performs better out of these two. Has any member have any expereinces with any of these radars?

both... i prefer v1... the new escort x50 is suppoe to out perform the v1... but i still prefer knowing where the cop is coming from (front ,rear , side) and only the v1 doest that

when i typed x50 i was trying to grasp the concept that the 8500 is old

i have v1 and i can't be happier.

my friend got both, did testing, and the v1 won over the passport 8500 by a big margin
