With the 3GS, Lexus is only offering the black stained wood trim with Ash leather. What is your preference with the Ash leather?
1. Black stain
2. Traditional wood stain
3. Lexus should offer both with Ash leather

Usually, I'm not fond of black stained wood trim because they tend to hide the natural pattern of the wood, but it can match well with some interior colors, & in the case of the 3GS, it seems to match quite well with the ash.
Of course Lexus should offer both black & traditional wood trim with the Ash interior to give buyers more choices.

Wood IMO should look like WOOD. If you want something darker, go with carbon-fiber...that looks a lot better than black wood.
I don't see this poll getting many votes, so I wonder if this is not an issue with many CL members, or whether I just posted in the wrong place.
My concern is the lack of choices with interior/exterior colors and option packages on the 3GS (and I would guess the 2IS when it arrives) and Lexus in general. For instance, if you prefer a light interior color, but want the traditional wood trim, your only choice is "cashmire". "Cashmire" looks great, but by picking it, you eliminate the exterior colors "Mercury Metallic", "Flint Mica" and "Glacier Frost Mica". If you check out the competition, most allows the choice of black or traditional wood trim and with more than one color leather.
If there is one negative with Lexus, it's the lack of choices with options and colors. I wish the Lexus "Taste Police" would lighten up a little and allow customers willing to pay $45K-60K more choices than currently exists, especially if they are willing to order and wait.

Yes, I think Lexus should offer more choices like the German brands, but even Mercedes offers only the traditional burl walnut for the regular E350/500, & if you want the sports package, then it comes with only black wood trim & you cannot have the regular. However, when you go up to the S/CL/SL class, they do offer 2 -3 choices of wood trims for more flexibility, but Lexus doesn't offer the same flexibility even for the LS & SC.
Moreover, Mercedes also offer designo packages with more choices of wood/paint/leather combinations for most of their models, but at a premium of thousands of $'s more.
Yes, I agree Lexus should offer more flexible combinations of choices for customers. Right now, they won't even allow that even if you factory order your car :thumbdn:
