Mazda's Zoom Zoom Live event is going to some major cities over the next few months. They are letting anyone over 18 get into a car and race it against the clock, which sounds like a lot of fun, and it's free. We have not yet visited the Mazda event, but we have been to similar Mercedes events where they let you choose a car to race around a track. They gave away hats, food, remote control cars, and other prizes. The Mercedes event was a blast, and we expect the Mazda event to be similar. And you can't beat the price.
I'm already signed up for San Francisco 8/20 at 9:15 Hope to see some of you. I'll be the one driving the Mazda like I stole it
Did this a couple years ago. Loads of fun! Everyone was given 2 runs. The only problem is that the wait in line for each run was about an hour. I just took one run.
There was also a separate, smaller course to test drive the rest of Mazda's lineup. You're not supposed to drive these cars hard. There were lines for these cars too, so I just drove the vehicle with no line - some minivan. The workers there weren't too happy about me sliding the van around the course though...
I'm signed up for the 8/20 SF at 2pm. I'm sure it'll be a blast...I just hope it won't be too hot. Although Alameda Point is usually pretty cool being right off the bay. In fact sometimes you need a sweater in the middle of August around there.
