View Full Version : Cars with an identity crisis?

Yesterday we were at an Orange County shopping center when I spotted a conservatively modded Camry. When I walked by it, I noticed it had a "L" emblem and a "VTEC Tuning" emblem and another which I can't remember on the trunk lid. :uh: :egads:

What triggers this identity crisis? :uh: :uh:

Well to be honest its a mental disorder called "Automotive Identity Crisis Syndrome"

Very very sad and heart breaking

most of the time its caused by sheer ignorance. Lots of the time, they dont know what the sticker is for, they just see everyone else with them. So they follow suit. :egads:

i laughed when i saw an integra with honda logos. i dont understand it, and its not like the logos change your car into whatever you want it to be. maybe i should get some ferrari emblems and put them on my car.... ;)

They can't afford to buy new badges?
I can see the Acura for Honda swaps but not the vice versa. We know for a fact that there exists no Acura Civic, Acura Accord etc. This goes the same with Lexus/Toyota.... well not any longer since Lexus was introduced into Japan now (except older models).

As for that Camry? No idea... maybe he really has a V-TEC dropped into the Camry but then again why the Lexus badges.

For my own personnal tastes, I'll keep my badges the car came with and I won't add any extras, that includes windshield decals. I have the belief that the car was designed with the right amount of badges and that the car shouldn't have to flaunt what kind of car it is. I prefer my car without shaved badges.

To each his(/her) own though...

The last few I've seen have all been with the "L". On a Hyundai, Civic and other Toyotas like an Avalon and this Camry.

Don't laugh TOO hard. True, Kias are not Lexuses, but they are at least respectable vehicles today. Gone are the days when Kia and Hyundai built junk.

Indeed, their build quality has gone up 100 fold, for both manufacturers. But still, who was gonna believe that your KIA SPECTRA was actually a Lexus? And in all reality, what was this guy thinking when he put that badge on? "Maybe the b**ches will be on my d**k now that they THINK my KIA is actually a LExus, yeah thats it." :uh:
