I wonder if that title was on purpose :D mkorsu 08-16-05, 08:09 AM They don't call Philly the "City of Brotherly Love" for nothing!!!!!! :D SC400Dude 08-16-05, 09:40 AM Wow, Just what Philly needed....with the T.O. drama happening lately, McNabb has got to be fed up...LoL RiverRat 08-16-05, 10:05 AM Wow, Just what Philly needed....with the T.O. drama happening lately, McNabb has got to be fed up...LoL Haha, this is from back in 2002 tho. Anyone see how AWFUL the eagles looked last night? LOL @ their special teams. Lexmex 08-16-05, 02:36 PM Nothing but great fans in Philly. I even like N.Y. Jets fans when they played my beloved Dolphins...great rivalry...no hate in the stands...cannot say the same for New England...they were vicious in the 80s and early 90s. Looks like it finally paid off. mkorsu 08-16-05, 02:48 PM Nothing but great fans in Philly. I even like N.Y. Looks like it finally paid off. Did you say no hate in the stands????? You sure you were actually at the game??? :D I don't think I've ever seen fans as bad as at Eagles or Jets games! Come on, at the old Veterens Stadium they had to put a jail and COURTROOM in it so after they arrrested the drunken roudies, they could be tried right there. Imagine going to the game and being sentenced to county before halftime!! :egads: And Jets fans! God forbid you wear a Dolphins Jersey into Giants stadium for a Jets game. I once saw a group of guys, not kids mind you, but grown men, spittng at a 8-9 year old boy sitting a few rows below them because he had a Marino jersey on. That is just wrong!!! I only wished they tried spitting at me. I woul dhave personally shown them EXACTLY where Hoffa is buried ;) UDel 08-16-05, 03:22 PM Philly has some of the worst "fair weather fans" out there. They are only happy when they are winning but horrible when they are loosing. Players have been attacked and injured several times by fans during bad games or after a bad season. There are often fights that break out for the dumbest reasons at the stadiums. I know people who have had there windows smashed and cars vandalized because they had a sticker or a hat inside their vehicle from a different team. There are way too many childish immature Eagles fans that turn too violence and yelling and it has turned many people off to root for different teams and go to different cities games to get away from them. Not a place you want to take a young child to enjoy a football or baseball game. I remember going to a Cowboys/Eagles game where one of the Cowboys players was seriously injured and not getting up and all you could see and hear were Eagles fans cheering and clapping. Things like this happen in all cities but generally not as often or as intense as in Philly. There have been several surveys that named Philly fans as the worst most beligerant fans out there. It is ashame that many of these fanatics ruin the image of decent non agressive Philly fans. And they really need to change that "City of Brotherly Love" licence plate slogan because that is the last thing you feel in Philly when you are there especially South Philly. Most people I know avoid going to Philadelphia at all cost after too many negative experiences. superpats 08-17-05, 07:45 AM Nothing but great fans in Philly. I even like N.Y. What other fans do you know that would throw snowballs at Santa Clause? As far as New England goes we have the most knowledgable sports fans and 4 of the best teams in the 4 major sports rich with history. The only time it ever gets rowdy is when someone walks into Fenway Park with a Yankees logo on. :boxing: RiverRat 08-17-05, 07:59 AM What? Been there, done that. :egads: chicagoblknazn 08-17-05, 08:24 AM I wouldn't mind getting some either... :D |
