As for QB's, your bench should consist of at least 1 player from the major positions to cover injuries & bye-weeks. We can always edit if everyone sees fit. :)

Definitely can go live draft and prerank players just in case you cant make it or even if during the draft you gotta go to the head you wont lose a pick the comp just takes your next ranked guy. Done a live Yahoo draft already this year. :thumbup: Lemme try the id and pass again.

I just went and pre-ranked a feew players and it worked fine. Once you have your players in the right hand side field, click save. Then you'll be at a edited rankings changes and there will be a clickable phrase "view changes". This should show you what you have changed. This info can be edited as often as you like until the draft, which from what I can tell is up to us. My thought is to have the draft the week before 1st game, but after last preseason.

You're basically acting as General Manager and Coach of a Football team during the actual pro season. We draft actual pro players to our fictional teams. The statistics from their actual performance in their respective games are used by us as well. Different leagues have different scoring structures, but put simply, say my team was playing yours. The players on your team performed better than mine (this is all based on a predetermined scoring structure that uses points that are assigned to different statistic categories), you won the "fantasy" game against me. The fantasy aspect is that you have the ability to draft players from different teams in the NFL to your "fantasy team".

My thought is to have the draft the week before 1st game, but after last preseason.

No, that option isn't available as far as I can tell. My only answer to that is Caveat Emptor! :D
This is a free league for poops and giggles anyway. (Even though CL bragging rights carries some panache!!) :D

As for date and time, once I give the ok on the commissioner screen that the teams are prepared to draft, it happens the next day. I figure to firm up the date by tomorrow and throw it out there and see what everyone thinks.

Man, that's enough for me...My other leagues are Head-to-Head leagues...then Basketball season rolls in and then I I have to juggle those teams (usually 4 teams), gotta defend a couple of them titles...Haha.

Thanks, but the true FFL machine was some guy on ESPN a few years ago. The guy was a Cardiologist that had 63, yes Sixty Three teams one season. ESPN did a whole write-up on the guy. His main problem (which I have experienced to a much lesser extent) was that he might have Randy Moss playing on 8 teams but 10 of his opponents were playing Moss against him, so he wasn't sure if he wanted to cheer for him or against him...LOL!

And yes, sleeper picks are key and they usually come in the midddle to late rounds. But I also guarantee that after week 1 and 2 there will be at least 20 guys on the waiver wire that will turn out to be season long performers too.

And TypeII, Great job because the NBA and MLB Fantasy Leagues are much tougher. Football is one game a week which makes it much easier to keep up with.

Tell me about it, games almost everyday. And I swear some of these guys breathe and sleep for this stuff, they're up at 2 in the morning picking up guys when they clear the waivers.

I remembered last year when Larry Hughes went down on my team, I was at work, didn't even have the slightest idea what was going on, logged on to see all these guys like Juan Dixon, Javis Hayes, Jared Jefferies and Etan Thomas getting snatched up within seconds of the injury, I was like WTF...It's a you snooze, you loose with with them.

What s*cks about Fantasy Football for me is that, in the past I am usually at church at 11 am, when all the games are going on, get home around 12:30 pm and bam tons of movements on the waivers between that stretch of time...

Yeah this is something I struggle with also especially if i'm playing against someone who has a guy on my home team. I can't root against corey Dillon getting in the end zone. :confused:

I suggest everyone try signing on early to ensure that you are there in time (just in case you encounter problems). The draft for the 2005-2006 CL Fantasy Football season shall be commencing at 5pm today, September 2, 2005 at our league page on Yahoo!!! I suggest everyone try signing on early to ensure that you are there in time (just in case you encounter problems). Those that cannot partake in the Live aspect, please make sure your pre-rankings are complete as the system will draft for you (This is what I'm doing).

Hafa Adai Juan. Is Guam still a week behind on US TV broadcasts? I was stationed at Andersen AFB '83~'85 and that bugged me during football season.

Some interesting items from week 1. Most notably is that some QB's need more playing time in the pre-season or else they will look terrible on opening day. Just a few bitten by this bug; Culpepper (5 TO's) , Pennington (int, 2 FB's), Hasselback (3 Int's), Plummer, and McNabb,etc..

McNabb didn't throw one pass on the money last night, some were close but TO was open way too often for him to completely miss him. Many passes were overthrown or slightly behind his WR's. Thankfully week one is over and we can finally start to get some idea of how this season is going to shape up.

There were quite a few good surprises too, should be a fun season and hopefully everyone will remain competitive.

Need help please. I'm faced with a tough decision this week at the RB position. I need to start 2 of these 4: Thomas Jones vs. Cinn., Tiki @ Da Bolts, S. Alexander vs. AZ., Cadillic (C-dub) Williams @ GB. Yea I know I'm stacked at RB ;) , but it makes it hard each week to figure out who to start. Alexander is almost a definite because you just don't sit a guy who can go out and get you 4 TD's any given Sunday, but the #2 spot is up in the air. I really like Carnell and the way the Tampa Offense is rolling, but so is Tiki and the G-men and T. Jones just had a 2 TD day (but was that a fluke?). So I need some advice on who you would start. If any of you fools wanna trade me a solid #1 WR for one of these backs I'll consider a trade.

Man I wish I had your problem. I'd go with S. Alexander and Tiki. Tiki is solid.

Thanks Mark, now let's just hope my guys keep producing. Like Mr. Superpats I too am loaded at RB, maybe not like Superpats but Tomlinson, Jackson, Taylor, and Williams (if he returns to form) should serve me well.

BTW I don't believe Thomas is a fluke, I have him in a couple of other leagues and he had 100 yds and a TD week 1 and then another 100yd game and 2 TDs in week 2. If he keeps it up it will be very hard for Benson to get much playing time, that is why I usually avoid rookies. Although I think I'd go Alexander and Williams myself next week.
