i a not sure if you guys notice, but is there any problem with the new style camry tailights? i swear, ever since it came out, i have seen more than 10 or even 20 with ONE blown taillight. very often when i am driving on the road i get behind a new style camry and i will see that one side taillight is gone when the guy brakes
i am sure they are not the same. i have seen different colors and even different areas
just thinking whether it's a common problem

I have yet to see problems with the new style tails around here, but I have seen tailight bulb failures from the 7 out of 10 previous Camry's ('02-'04).

That's kinda odd and very un-Toyota like. I'd have to say 9/10 Golf/Jetta's have blown taillights, so it's not the worst. I haven't seen a lot of Camry's with blown taillights, however i'd have to say 7/10 of them are driving with their brights on :egads:

I havent seen any blown tailights around here. My mom has an 04 and my Dads old 03 never had this problem.

Well considering the types of Camry owners I've come into contact with... maybe they just thought bulbs were like oil and never went bad and never needs to be replaced. If they've never bothered to inspect their bulbs, maybe they just burned out naturally and were never replaced. Or maybe it's all those soccer moms who seem to think the law requires you to slam on the brakes every 1/8 mile, regardless of traffic conditions. Continual use of those bulbs will make them burn out rather frequently. ;)

Rom, I totally agree. I responded to thread a long time ago with the new camry (with the red white red, not the current white red white taillight :p ) having one side blown-out taillights, but no one said anything.
Now that you started a new thread for this, I can say again, WTH???
Ooooooooooh, maybe gm is right about toyota quality :p
Does toyota have a tsb for this?

Haven't noticed the Camrys but how about GM's Sierra/Silverado/Tahoe/Suburban etc. DRLs always being out on one side, the yellow ones. That drives me crazy!

That, and the taillights are always out. Not the brake lights, but the tails.
I know for a fact that the circuitboards cause this though, a friend of the family is a parts director for a few GM dealerships

I haven't paid any attention to it, I'll look out for it as I see like 20+ of the new ones a day

Well, I think there's a very simple explanation for this - usually Camrys appeal to old fart drivers that drive with their foot over the brake pedal. In fact, I think only 5% of camry owner actually drive their camry for the purpose of getting from point A to point B, the rest of them drive their camry in order to read a newspaper while driving and to experience the thrill of randomly flooring that brake pedal. No wonder the lights fail from the excessive braking :)
