I went to the Taste of Lexus Event today in New York and I test drove the Is and the gs and the screen in the car said that the key was not detected yet some how the car was still able to move. Do any of you know how that is possible for the car to move without the key in the car? Is there some sort of setting that they used or is it like that for all keyless start vehicles.

The IS & GS have SmartKeys that once you start the car, it will keep running until the engine is stopped and you won't be able to start it without the key.

BTW: Did they have any parting gifts?
