Why is it that in Japan, there are no crashbars? What is the point of not having one if a crash bar is only there to prevent further damage to a car? I can clearly understand why the US requires a 5mph crashguard, but why doesn't Japan? The way I see it, there is no advantage to not having one..

What's a CRASH BAR?
I think it's called "reinforcement bar"

i believe they do, it's just a smaller one in japan. it's a matter of standard, maybe in japan generally the speed are not as high
