AUTOMOBILE MAG... First: FORD GT vs Z06 vs VIPER Coupe!
Thanks to mhoward1.
Too bad it was raining. I anticipate my boys at M/T will set better numbers from them all.
I don't care what nobody says... the FORD GT OWN3Z and is in a league of substance & style all it's own! Undoubtedly the Super Vette Z06 is the performance-bargain of this millenium, but... parked side-by-side to the GT... it is just a "sporty car".
Viper is simply played out. No thank you.
Thanks for posting. Great read.

Guys, I know some of you here at CL may disagree with me on this, (and TX, I suspect you will be one of them, and I acknowledge and accept that ). Hameed...my guess is that you will also disagree......but I personally think that the regular auto mags in general spend too much time and too many pages in their monthly issues covering exotics, supercars, high-dollar sports cars, and cars capable of 200 MPH speeds and 1G-and-up cornering....this issue is a perfect example. Yes, it is fine and dandy for those fortunate few who want these cars, have a place where they can drive them to their limits legally, can afford the steep purchase price, gas bills, insurance premiums, and high costs of maintenance these cars will present. Relatively few people will actually buy or lease these cars....( trust me )....although the Z06 may sell in somewhat higher numbers than the other two.
I also notice that in the same issue AUTOMOBILE, like some other mags this month, has a long write-up on the Bugatti Veyron....an even more outlandish, powerful, and expensive car. Now....DON'T get me wrong.....the Veyron is a beautiful car, inside and out. The coachwork is stunning......but I still think that more time should be spent testing and writing up the ordinary cars that most of us in the auto world actually shop for and BUY. Take us CL members, for instance.............the majority of us seem to talk about the Lexus GS, IS, SC, Acura TL / RL, Infiniti G35 / M35 / M45, BMW 3-series, and Mercedes C and E-classes. And those who are not quite as sport-oriented are more interested in cars like the Camry, Accord, Sonata, etc....or SUV's.
These are the cars that the mags should spend more time on IMO, instead of movie-grade exotics that most of us will never even test-drive, much less buy.

Celebrating Lexus & Toyota from Around the Globe

Without question most magazines have front-page articles and editorials on cars that are for the most part, unobtainable by a vast majority of human beings.
BUT...... It is what the vast majority of human beings want to read and see! I GURANTEE you that.
Let the mags run 4 or 5 straight months with family sedans, suv's, econo cars, etc as their cover story and watch the sales dip faster than that carmel honey at Chocolate City!
The fact is, we are infatuted with the in most cases... the unobtainable. And the American society/culture perpetuates this on a regular basis. Me personally... I would cancel my M/T subscription of over 20 years, if they didn't have the hottest cars on Eath on the front cover. But I see your point.
nuff said.
They disabled the alarm and satalite tracking systems and some onther stuff and now he is happy with it again.
