Default Infiniti Announces Entry Into Ukrainian Market

KIEV, Ukraine (Oct. 14, 2005) – Nissan Motor Ukraine announced plans to launch its luxury Infiniti brand in the Ukrainian market, starting at the end of 2007. Ukraine is the second country selected for Infiniti expansion in Eastern Europe, following the entry into Russia in 2006.

Nissan Motor Ukraine, which was established in April 2005, is currently seeking Infiniti dealer candidates, with the first dealer appointment planned for the Kiev area. The independently owned and operated Infiniti dealers will offer complete services, including new and pre-owned vehicle sales, vehicle service and parts and accessories support.

Infiniti’s entry into the Ukraine market is part of the global expansion of the brand set forth in Nissan’s latest comprehensive three-year business plan, NISSAN Value-Up, which was announced in April 2005.

Sales of Infiniti originated in the United States in 1989, where it has become one of the fastest growing luxury brands in recent years. Taiwan and the Middle East began selling Infiniti vehicles in the past few years, followed by Korea in August 2005. Along with Ukraine, Infiniti will launch sales organizations in Russia, China and ultimately Japan.

Located in Kiev, Nissan Motor Ukraine’s operations currently include Sales, Marketing and after sales activities through nine official Nissan dealer outlets.

Interesting place to start off. I wonder how it will be perceived in the Ukrainian market.

Infiniti hasn't just started expanding internationally. They already exist in the Middle East and are currently setting up shop in Korea.

Their perception I guess would depend on what vehicles they are going to launch with there.

I wonder how much homework the marketers have done....they better not bite off more than they can chew. A big problem there is that with the awful Russian economy, relatively few people at present can afford new cars, period, much less Infinitis. People have to stand in line just to get basic groceries. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the sales figures are.

Sorry meant to say interesting place to start of in Europe. They seem to be doing rather well in the Middle East, although I can't talk for other parts of thr world.

1) Ukraine is not Russia

2) There are alot mor billionairs in Russian / Former Soviet Union then there are anywhere in the world.

3) You dont have to be rich to own an infiniti. The Reconstruction Period is long gone and people actually have steady jobs and money now. What you see on CNN does not equal the truth.
