Default Drove the 550i today - big mistake

OMG What a car! This thing was amazing. I floored it at 30MPH and the traction control light blinked all the way up to 50MPH!

Had the Active Steering too. Have to say, not bad. Everyone I have talked to that has it loves it. You really don't notice it until you get back into a regular car and realize how far you have to turn the wheel just to make a turn.

The comfort access (keyless entry) was very nice - you simply touch the door handle and it unlocks - no pushing a button, no lifting on the handle - most cool. Does cost $1K however. Not cool.

I admit that I was so into driving this car that I did not even touch the stereo or NAV. Must do that next time!

I am so screwed now. I was almost convinced that a 330 MT was the car for me - they even have some decent lease deals on them now. But noooo, I had to drive the 550. That thing is leasing out like a pig right now. This is not good.

I hate to confess that I drove a Mini Cooper S last night and it's by far the most fun car I've ever driven (haven't driven the IS350 yet)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: there's no beating a BMW's driving experience.

A 545 or 550 at 20k still would not get my $$$. I am sure it drives nice but that styling just reminds me too much of a 10k import and I end up shaking my end each time I see a poor soul drive around in one especially a slow 530. I love cars, but not many of the current Bimmers inlcuding new M5. BMW styling is old (except 6 series coupes) and need something fresh to come out like the concept M1 starting to circulate. Just MO of course.

EDIT:
Fast forward, looks have grown on me and after driving a few 550's must say that this car is awesome. I stand corrected. Still not big on the styling.

The new 5 series drives great but looks awful. I couldn't buy one because of the looks. The new 3 series isn't bad. The 6 is nice, and the 7's freshening has helped a good bit. But the 5 needs serious help in the looks department. It looks like something Kia would have produced.

I can never live with the 5's design & it's awful interior nomatter how well it drives. I'd rather have the 3 or the 6 . . .
