didnt really want to open a new thread about this but this had been buggin me, im basically wondering why when SAE issued their new testing procedures, before the ES330 and camry SE V6 models had the same hp and tq numbers (225 & 240) but now in 06 model years, the ES has 218hp while the camry SE V6 has 210hp. is there something different about the engine in the camry and the ES? because i thought that they were both the same engine. and with the camry solara V6 models its still posted as 225 horses? so basically my question is why the difference in numbers?
I hear that Toyota tested the Camry with Regular Gas, while the ES330 was tested with Premium Gas. No difference in engine, just different power levels when using higher octane gas.

Alot of the HP difference is purely marketing but most of it is ECU controlled. Not gasoline octane tests.
