I was watching some tv and saw somewhere that Pavano may be on the block to be traded? YOu think there is any truth to this? They really give up on him that quick? Whats the word outta NY?

View Full Version : Yo A, Pavano on the block?? Lexis11 01-04-06, 07:58 PM I was watching some tv and saw somewhere that Pavano may be on the block to be traded? YOu think there is any truth to this? They really give up on him that quick? Whats the word outta NY? mkorsu 01-05-06, 01:16 PM Haven't heard anything about that yet, but I don't necessarily disagree with it. He is great trade material. Especially if it's for prospects. Now that Cashman signed back on, he is back at the reigns and HE's making the decisions, not George. Steiny was stereotypical Steinbrenner. Pay whatever it takes to build the best team. But, as we saw, that usually doesn't work! Too many stars, not enough team players. Stuff I have been hearing is that Cashman will be trying to get the farm system back in order and start getting some younger players back on the field. bluelex 01-05-06, 01:59 PM Nothing in the NY papers about it...I think you give this kid another shot and see what he does fully healthy and with a year of NY under his belt...Might be a surprise next year for us... Whats the word outta NY? Pavano will be staying with the Yankees. Are you going to any Red Sox/Yankee games this year? I will be sitting behind the Yankees dugout in May when the Red Sox visit the Bronx. I will give Johnny a very "warm" welcome. :sai: Captain Bone 01-10-06, 07:06 PM Jumping in late in this thread but he's supposedly been unhappy about NY since mid season according to my INsider ESPN sources. I don't think he's going anywhere though. -Anthony Lexis11 01-11-06, 07:15 AM Its a Bone sighting, bro where you been figured you would be allover this forum. Just wait till spring when Pedro doesnt show up for spring training on time or he stinks the joint up then you will be around lol. Just joking bro, nice to see you post. bluelex 01-11-06, 07:20 AM Dam J, with crap like that from you he might never come back....LOL Bone- I figure you'll be on the forum more in baseball season than now but man you guys have made some great moves so far even picked up another releaver just last week. I'm more worried about Glavine than Pedro. Pedro will be fine. I just wish he would cut his hair..lol bluelex 01-11-06, 07:27 AM I think my favorite quote of all time was Big papi last year around this time "Pedro ain't going to no Mets" :D than a week later Pedro signs with the Mets..LOL I know its old from last year but I was thinking about it this morning :D Captain Bone 01-11-06, 07:12 PM Notice how Adrian didn't say a word.. I wonder why.. hmm.. probably because the only move the Yankees made was seen by the casual baseball fan as a stellar move.. but to the trained eye... extremely risky. Damon has played over 1500 games in the past 10 years. Although that is stellar, it does not bode well for his career. The last two seasons post all-star break have been dismal and you can expect the same this year. I wish him all the luck but he won't cut it. Now on to Mr. "We won the world series and now we think we'll do it every year thereafter." ;) What happened to your fielding? Oh, thats right, it left. :) You have absolutely no defense, a solid starting rotation, a barren/unproven/risky pen, and a mediocre offense. Ortiz and Ramirez are only protecting each other and no one else is there to pick up the slack. Varitek is aging, and not gracefully. JT Snow was solid.. in 95. :) Your in trouble.. that's all I'm gonna say. :) As for the Mets.. well I'm pleased but not overly. Glavine and Trach are both old men and need to have their last years this season. Pelfrey and Humber need to be promoted within the next 2-3 years to pick up the slack. Don't worry.. we'll be in the NLCS or WS within that time or it'll be a huge disapointment. Just remember who the second odds on pick to win the WS is this year behind the Yankees. Yes baby, The Mets. End of discussion. :) bluelex 01-11-06, 09:23 PM Just cuz we made a small amount of moves doesn't mean we had a bad offseason, Come on. We added a centerfeilder and one of the best leaad off guys in MLB. We helped our pen by adding some really nice arms and yes we didn't add starting pitching but we have so many already, guys Randy will be better ths year, why do I say this you ask? same thing happen with roger ,we traded for him and he stunk it up 1st year here, everyone said he was wahed up, next year he wins 20 games and the CY Young. Randy will do the same minus the CY Young. When you already have a great team lots of moves aren't needed to make it better just some small touches here and there. When you have a Horrible team(alla Mets) you need to add major pieces. :p Lexis11 01-12-06, 08:09 AM Well well well Bone comes back with a vengence lol :D First off our fielding has gotten better, loretta at second is an upgrade, lowell at third is an upgrade, snow/youk is another upgrade at first. So unfortunatley your analysis is off there. Now our pitching is strong our pen true isnt proven and our offense is still good. In no way am I saying we will win the WS again god it took us 86 years to win our second one BUT we will compete for the penant like always and if Foulke and Schill are healthy we will be fine. Mets well yes they have made some major moves, I am very curious to see if they can actually win now or just continue to lose :D Spring training can't come soon enough. bluelex 01-12-06, 09:53 AM Well well well Bone comes back with a vengence lol :D First off our fielding has gotten better, loretta at second is an upgrade, lowell at third is an upgrade, snow/youk is another upgrade at first. I remember back a couple years ago when the Mets stock piled talent in the offseason and it turned out to be another last place finish. I hope the Mets do well I want to see the papers have good stories on the Yanks and Mets all year. But come on Bone one step at a time here, 1st make the playoffs for the 1st time since 2000 than we can go from there...LOL :p Captain Bone 01-12-06, 11:54 AM Well well well Bone comes back with a vengence lol :D First off our fielding has gotten better, loretta at second is an upgrade, lowell at third is an upgrade, snow/youk is another upgrade at first. (not that Renteria was anything noteworthy last year). Again, Varitek is old and your backup jumped ship for a ridiculous amount of money from the Pads. I just don't see the same production coming out of your team. Honestly, I see the Jays making a strong push at the end of the year for the wild card, if not division title. They've been quietly building a team that will pack their ball park once again. -Anthony Lexis11 01-12-06, 02:38 PM Honestly, I see the Jays making a strong push at the end of the year for the wild card, if not division title. They've been quietly building a team that will pack their ball park once again. Come ahn Bone you are smarter than that. They signed some marquee guys I admit it and the GM is a friend of mine so I wont bash them to bad but bro those guys arent proven. Look at Burnett sub 500 ecord in the national league now he has to come to the Al where the DH is gonna eat him up. Then you have BJ Ryan who saved a bunch of games for a team that had no pressure cause they couldnt win, Lyle Overbay who played in Milwaukee  and finally the best acqusition Troy "Injury" Glaus. So as you can see the Jays will once again compete for thrid place in the division. :D MY GS300 01-12-06, 06:07 PM The Red Sox and Yankees are the two best teams in all of baseball. The Red Sox is a much better defensive team. And our bullpen is a major upgrade over last season. But Schilling and Foulke need to stay healthy. The Yankees have the best offensive team in the history of major league baseball. But Randy and The Moose need to stay healthy. Robinson Cano will have a fantastic 2006 season (especially offensively). I pick the Mets to win the N.L. East (The Braves' 14-year playoff run will come to an end). The Blue Jays will NOT make the playoffs. So for all you Blue Jays fans, just focus on the Maple Leafs. :D And Manny, please make up your mind!!! :D http://tinypic.com/k3r48o.jpg Captain Bone 01-12-06, 06:56 PM Come ahn Bone you are smarter than that. Ah yes, the phillies, braves and Joe Carter.. need I say more? lol. Lyle Overbay was in Milwaukee but last I checked Toronto wasn't much of a hotbed and niether was Baltimore for BJ Ryan. Ryan might not have the season he had last year but he'll be good enough for the Jays this year. I completely agree with your comment about Burnett, but I think this is his year. The Jays are a very well balanced team just like they were in 92/93. Just be careful. They're not just gonna lie over and take it this year. :) MY GS300 01-12-06, 08:05 PM That's what everyone said in 92/93. And what happened.. But unfortunately, they are in the same division as the Yankees and Red Sox. But the Blue Jays will be a very competitive team for many years to come. And more of their fans will come to the games. I went to a Red Sox vs. Blue Jays game in Toronto and I was disappointed to see many empty seats!!! Your Mets look very good (Wagner, Delgado, a new catcher who plays very good defense, etc)!!! |
