View Full Version : Kobe vs Iverson for Scoring title 1SICKLEX 01-07-06, 12:23 PM Kobe hit 48 in 34 min last night, 19 for 29 and hit all 7 3s he shot. Iverson had 31. codetoad 01-07-06, 04:44 PM I think triple doubles are more impressive than high scoring games*cough* lebron*cough* That to me, means your teamates suck and you rely too much on your guards to get the job done, which can result in too much defensive pressure on your star player...and cost you the game - which happens quite frequently. Look at the games where single players (LeBron, Kobe, Iverson) score more than 40 points - although there are exceptions -they tend to lose alot more than they win. SCRUFFDOGG 01-08-06, 11:41 AM And then drops 50 on the Clips, Kobe can win this scoring title easily if he wants too. LEXISM 01-10-06, 10:36 AM KOBE: and drops 45 on the Pacers ....4 games in a row 45+ points...first time since Wilt Chamberlin in 64' :woohoo: superpats 01-10-06, 11:01 AM KOBE: and drops 45 on the Pacers ....4 games in a row 45+ points...first time since Wilt Chamberlin in 64' :woohoo: Yeah but are they winning these games? No seriously are they? I haven't been following the Lakers. GFerg 01-10-06, 11:40 AM It'll probably be Kobe. I read on ESPN that he is averaging some 42-44 points the past 8 games. Thats incredible. HKSC300 01-10-06, 12:08 PM Yeah but are they winning these games? No seriously are they? I haven't been following the Lakers. The Lakers have won three in a row in which Kobe had 45+ points. I'm not the biggest Kobe fan, but sometimes he does things that just wow you, like the 9 game streak of 40+ pts in '02 (I think), the 62 in 3 quarters, and this current 45+ binge. GS wanted 01-10-06, 12:50 PM Yeah but are they winning these games? No seriously are they? I haven't been following the Lakers. i think the lakers are: 18-16. if KB didn't have that two game suspension they could be been on par with the Heat (20-15) since so many people resort to comparing them with Shaq's Heat and the Shaq-less Lakers. also, they're on par to make the playoffs against all the nay-sayer's predictions as well. i will say that KB is walking a very tight line with being phenomenal and dangerously selfish at times. some of his shot selections aren't the best in tight situations. but he obviously doesn't mind putting the burden on his shoulders. BlkGS3 01-10-06, 01:30 PM Kobe played Iverson and the 76ers last week didnt he? He out scored A.I. sc.Fred 01-11-06, 11:36 AM i think Kobe will take it, they don't really have anybody else.. Lamar is doing alright but it's all Kobe  Xeeeeeem 01-11-06, 12:03 PM I wanna say Kobe BUT i think Bron Bron will take it. He is by far the most consistant and now that larry hughes is out for 2 months, his point average will go up to 35 36. Lebron if you look at his numbers, 30+ in the past 7 games not to mention 8 boards and 7assists on top of 52% from fieldgoal. Lexmex 01-12-06, 09:39 AM AI. I have been watching him since I was in college and this guy is more consistent every night. I cannot stand it when I see people jumping on the Kobe or Lebron bandwagon. Xeeeeeem 01-12-06, 09:49 AM You can jump on the band wagon if you have numbers to back it up. Look at lebrons and kobes number....correction, look at their consistancy. Lexmex 01-12-06, 12:10 PM You can jump on the band wagon if you have numbers to back it up. Look at lebrons and kobes number....correction, look at their consistancy. Consistency? Hmmm don't see it in either Lebron or Kobe...just big time showboats. GS wanted 01-12-06, 12:36 PM AI. I have been watching him since I was in college and this guy is more consistent every night. I cannot stand it when I see people jumping on the Kobe or Lebron bandwagon. i guess i don't see it as jumping on anybody's bandwagon when you're offering up an opinion to a poll. i'm an AI fan too. have been since i caught him a few times at Georgetown and summer games when i lived in D.C. but, this season i think it might go with KB. in prior years he's had shaq to get major touches (defer to, if you will) and this year it falls on him. the same way it's fallen on A.I. since he joined the 76'ers. i think that is the key to A.I.'s consistency. he's been the #1 option since day one and the ball is in his hands the majority of the time. it goes without saying he's a scoring machine but i like the tight competition KB is giving him. Yeah...I remember those Kenner League games and got to see AI when I was at GU. Kenner is where I first got my dose of Steve Francis when he was still in community college. I donīt want to take anything away from Kobe or Lebron...we need them all without MJ. GS wanted 01-12-06, 07:36 PM Yeah...I remember those Kenner League games and got to see AI when I was at GU. Kenner League...ha ha ha...brings back memories. I remember seeing Sam Cassell show up at halftime for one of those games. His team was losing badly, he shows up in Reebok classics, long B-more style jean shorts and throws on a jersey. He was angry the refs wouldn't let him play in his shorts and after he changed I think he came out and hit like 9 three-pointers in a row. :D Those were some fun games to watch. |
