I agree, he got what he deserved.

Having been a kicker/punter in high school and college, I remember two things...keep your head down and concentrate on the kick. Taunting ruins concentration. I treat kicking like golf, but some kickers have some strange habits:

-putting garlic in their shoe.
-licking their hands for no reason
-grabbing their balls in their pants (knew a guy at kicking camp who claimed this brought him luck)
-slapping their helmet wildly
-doing a little dance

How's this for a strange habit? Ex-kicker Tony Franklin of the Philadelphia Eagles used to kick barefoot. Yes, that's right.....BAREFOOT. And he actually had some of the NFL's better kicking records during his time. Tommy Thompson, a kicker for the 49'ers, also sometimes kicked barefoot.....but he always used shoes for punting.

That's what he and the colts get since the refs "wanted" them to win.

I have known a few guys who do this. I have a small foot (an advantage for getting the sweet spot right). Being barefoot actually is the best way as the shoe and the sock actually absorb some of the power. Problem is, and for most of us, it will hurt.

Hard to punt barefoot as you are hitting it on top of your foot.

The guys I really admire are the ones who still kick straight on as opposed to soccer style (like me) and do it well. I used to practice dropkicking though neither my high school nor college coach would let me try it.
