Four world and European premieres at Geneva
Innovation and design set the tone for new Toyota models.

Yaris T Sport, a new sports concept

Newly improved version of Prius

Urban Cruiser, bold concept for a mini SUV by Toyota ED2

Fine-T and i-swing, Toyota’s latest mobility concepts

Just a few weeks after the European launch of the new Toyota Yaris range, Toyota will unveil a high performance concept of its best selling model at the Geneva motor show.

The T Sport is powered by a 1.8-litre engine, the biggest ever to be installed on this model. New bumpers, radiator grille, alloy wheels and modified suspension convey a more aggressive look, adding to the essence of this sports concept.

Newly improved Prius
The world’s best selling hybrid car gets a makeover for the 2006 model year. A fresh new look is complemented by even more innovation, improved driving dynamics and additional interior refinements.

The main highlight is the Intelligent Park Assist (IPA) system, another European-first available in Prius – is unique and simple to operate, allowing the driver to select the target parking spot and then control the speed, while the car steers itself.

Urban Cruiser, bold new concept for a mini SUV
The Urban Cruiser is a design exercise by ED2, Toyota’s European design studio, for a futuristic mini SUV.

This concept car draws heavily on Toyota’s heritage in Sports Utility Vehicles but also adds its own dynamic flair and rugged originality. The Urban Cruiser also features a fresh interior style inspired on trendy furniture.

Rethinking the automobile: Fine-T and i-swing
Two advanced concepts offer glimpses of the future and reveal how Toyota can minimise environmental impact while providing transport solutions.

The Fine-T is the next step in fuel-cell hybrid vehicles and offers the cabin space of an Avensis within the approximate exterior dimensions of a Yaris. An independent four-wheel large-angle steering system confers an extremely tight turning radius, impossible to achieve with any conventional car.

The i-swing is a new evolution in personal mobility, offering a more direct form of human-machine interaction by adopting the latest technologies in IT robotics.

The Toyota press conference will take place on the 28th of February, at 13:30, Hall 4.

The Prius and the LS are getting the Intelligent Park Assist. When do the best sellers like the ES and Camry getting it?

Also, as far as the Fine T concept is concerned, I think that something innovative (fuel cell hybrid) should be designed dramatically different. This is how the Prius catches people attention. Now, although the Prius doesn't have the best design, it is a best seller...

IPA needs complete drive by wire controls, I am not sure if Camry and ES are completly "by wire".

As to the Fine T, it is pretty radical, there is nothing like it on the roads today. I am not sure if it is supposed to be completly different than normal car though.

p.s. Yaris 1.8 will have new variation of 2zzge. :-).
