Scan the R & T picture right below that one, Andrew.....it has what appears to be credible ( finally ) info on the upcoming V8 / V10 NSX. The pages right before that deal with the new Lexus GT 450 / 500 exotic.
( I don't have a scanner ).
Wow they might as well bring it the Z and RX came back. Doesn't look like there will be a turbo though. I hope there is a 6spd for the V6 option.
The RX, imo, doesn't really fit into this segment based on performance. It's WAY underpowered. Very cool styling inside & out, but no guts to back it up. On an economical note, the fuel efficiency doesn't justify the lack of power, either
I'm actually hoping Mazda's going to do something about this. They're up against a 290-hp Z, and a (prospective) 300+ HP Supra. The 240 hp rotary isn't quite going to cut it here.
that car looks pretty freakin hot.... dreams have come true? looks good... 450 hp V8 supra... what more could you really ask for? no turbo, but a V8 will suffice. i just hope its not the heavy beast the MKIV was. also, the RX-8 wasnt really supposed to be the next RX-7.... mazda has been talking for awhile about an FE RX-7
If these rumours true,Toyota Supra came back to productions compete sales 350Z, Mazda RX, and Skyline GTR! I am waiting buy Toyota Supra! I can't wait for Supra showroom dealership!
One of the reasons the Z and to a lesser extent the RX-8 has been so succesful is price. You can get into both cars under 30k easy, and low 30s to high 30s for the Z.
I just cannot see Toyota pricing this car starting at 35k to 50k sorry, it won't sell. THe badge is all wrong this day and age.
Even the old MR-2, it was overpriced, 25k for a 2200lbs car with 138hp.
I would hope it starts around 26k-40k tops. I do guess adding a V-8 can change things though.
Hmmm....the engines sounds nice, but the price?? Wasnt the original Supra considered overpriced?? I dont think Toyota/Lexus would make that same mistake twice. I'm sure they will follow the 350Z, RX-8 and Mustang with pricing. A bigger market at that price point. They get into the 40K's, then you start battling Corvette, Boxter and the like, hence a more exclusive, limited avalibilty market.
