At the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show, Ford Motor Company had a concept car on display named “losis”, set to test the public’s reaction to what will become the next generation Ford Mondeo. The losis was loaded with high tech, gull wings and an all over futuristic design and was hard to imagine in the every day traffic .
Here now are the very first photos showing a prototype of the real upcoming production Ford Mondeo, due for launch in 2007. The current model has been on the market since 2000 and underwent a minor restyling in 2003.
The pictured prototype, nicely clad in a very individual padded disguise, got caught during a top secret fuel stop in Northern Scandinavia. When the driver spotted the photographer, he turned the prototype around and fled full speed.
The new Mondeo is being developed simultaneously in Cologne/Germany and in Great Britain. The test car is a four door sedan with a rather short boot, similar to the concept car. It is based on the new S-Max platform and the suspension is the same as in the latest Ford Focus.
Ford is likely to offer again fuel engines ranging from 4 to 6 cylinders and various 4 cyl. Diesel engines.
The photos are showing 7 pictures of the prototype and one computer image suggesting how the new Mondeo could look like upon its release.

The only way a ford can look this good is to have the design team from europe do it. The front end and wheel arches reminds me of the new S class. I like it...i hope they bring this over here unchanged from the euro market.
Hopefully they won't drop the ball when it comes to the interior. Americans deserve better.

Agree that the top pic has an IS-ish look to it, but if y'all read the accompanying text, that pic is actually just a CGI.
