They got it figured out. And if a hybrid or AWD ES comes, more sales to the ES. And I am not sure how many ISs they can produce in a year but with a 6 day supply, clearly 44k a year is a low number, they can easily match the ES number of 70k a year.
They really seem to think hybrids will continue to be a huge new market. Look at the GS 450h compared to the others on the graph, including our very own 430!

count me in as one of those 68% first time lexus buyers, if the IS never came out I wouldnt have even thought about a lexus

And I believe that they are correct in assuming that some of those buyers will go to ES350 now as well.

Yes, I believe they're just using the manufacturers' official data in the presentation, not the best possible times. I think even the E500 with the old 5 speed tranny can do 5.9 sec. . . . . .

BMW is always very conservative when it comes to those 0-60 numbers, and I find their numbers pretty much useless.
I guess they have to use manufacturers numbers when they're doing this sort of presentation, but I wouldn't necessarily expect the GS450h to be faster, as those numbers would lead you to believe.
